Description Oh SNAP, I finally (attempted) to make another tutorial for you guys and gals! I decided to use my MELODRAMATIC PANIC lineart because 1. it wasn't already colored and 2. it seemed like it would be pretty easy for me to use as an example. Also, the program I used from start to finish for this pic was Adobe Illustrator CS but the process can pretty much be used in any program that has layers.

BE NICE ABOUT IT...I'm not one that usually likes to do tutorials since people always complain about something when I try 'em!

Hope you like it and tell me what ya think of it! ...and please DON'T tell me if there's a spelling error! D:

P.S. I only did the face because I'm lazy. <3

PLEASE COMMENT SO I'LL KNOW IF I SHOULD EVER DO ANOTHER TUTORIAL OR NOT!

Ayato (c) KariNeko

Probably no more, making tutorials are just soooo boring to me and the fact that I'm working full time makes it sucktastic! D:

We'll have to see since I pretty much hate making them...people always tell me I have to add more and I'm like... "I DUN WANNA " XD

Haha, I'd imagine they'd be boring. I'm easily distracted so I don't think I'd ever be able to make a tutorial on anything.

I respect all the people that want to transfer their knowledge...
(Because I'm a teacher too... )

You give the explanation clearly , designed in a 'catchy' composition. A great tutorial. Keep it up Miss KariNeko

this is wonderful.
one of my downfalls is the ability to imagine a light source and where shadows should be set. it gets really frusterating, but your tutorial is so clean and simple

i think ther's another way of "shading" in illustrator.ppl sometimes use the "multiply" option. but for me, that makes the shades all look gray.. so i like ur way better, it's the same as i do mine.

but ques, u didn't fill any of the lineart did u? i mean, all the colors (base and shades) are on seperate layers right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KariNeko In reply to nekomiKasai [2007-05-29 21:28:19 +0000 UTC]

I tend to do the coloring on a separate layer because otherwise I tend to screw up the lineart by accidentally erasing a line or something. D:
