Description
A quick tutorial-type thing I made for paws, comparing canine and feline.Hope this is able to help anyone that may be having some trouble with making paws look distinctly canine or feline, or just paws in general.
*Please note, this is a tutorial for just the paws, and I have the other bones where they should naturally bend way too low (I need to fix it but haven't gotten a chance yet). Also, I am not an expert and did these from memory and general knowledge, so everything might not be entirely anatomically correct. Different animals have differently shaped paws as well, so if you want it to look like a specific species, I would recommend looking up photo references of that species. There are always exceptions to things as well, for example, the cheetah does not have retractable claws and is actually shaped more similarly to a canine's paw.

Very Nice! Thank you, this helps considerably as I often get paws and hands etc mixed up! Also, you using firealpaca here? I just thought it seemed familiar somehow is all. Once more, thank you!

You're welcome! Just be aware that I did do this a while back, and there are some anatomical inaccuracies, so checking actual references on the animal you're trying to draw is always the best way to go. Glad it could help a bit though!
And actually I was using SAI here, but I hear the 2 programs have quite a few similarities.

Glad you like it! ;u; Though one thing to note, this is a tutorial for just the paws, and I have the other bones where they should naturally bend way too low (I need to fix it but haven't gotten a chance yet).
I'm going to add that to the description now too haha.

Ah well, gives us all a basic idea on how to draw them and what they may look like once drawn too c:

this is pretty neato mosquito and helpful!
one suggestion, the carpal pad should be far further up the leg than depicted in your drawings, for both cats and dogs. if a dog had feet like in your drawings, it would absolutely tear the living hell out of its carpal pad when all of its weight is put down and the pastern bends.

Thanks!
Ah, so it is... xD Oops. I did say that it's not entirely anatomically accurate though since I didn't use any references. I might change it eventually if I feel like it if it's that bad though.
