So a few days ago I watched a video for #DAGettingStARTed and watched as Martin Wong (a photographer) picked his theme from the bowl (an animal) and proceed to draw a human bunny girl while he offered his advice on taking positive qualities from other artists and using them in your own work in order to find your own style. It was good advice (some of which I already do). And afterwards he started doodling a fox and just gives up on his animal challenge, lol.

It made me want to do a stupid doodle too, so I ended up poorly drawing a fox with really no effort put into it and I knew it was terrible, but it was fun and it made me want to work on my other projects and not give up. However, the more I stared at it in my gallery, the more I grew to hate the doodle, especially when I knew I could do so much better and put more effort into it. So I redid it... and here's my Fox?! (2.0)

This time, I did it using a reference photo of a fox (just googled foxes and found this t ) so I could get my pose better and put more effort into the fur and the color quality (it also helped me in using my brushes in a way that I don't normally know how to use very well). This I am proud of. I actually took the time and energy to draw it how I wanted it to look, color it how I wanted, and actually make it look like art. So I guess, in a way, I got inspired to take a little more pride in my work. I usually put a lot of effort and dedication into my stuff, but I always get discouraged afterwards, like all my work wasn't good enough. Perhaps this is a step in the right direction for me to be more than just "happy with the outcome" and actually find the time to correct any mistakes so I can truly be proud of myself (and that last part isn't easy but I'm doing my best one microscopic step at a time.

So there it is. My one little project for the night.
