K so this took me forever! I did the first 3 layers of the image about 3 months ago, and HATED it. Then I layered some acrylic on top tonight and it came out pretty well
Kvothe from Patrick Rothfuss's (~Kvothe here in dA) 'Name of the Wind' and 'Wise Man's Fear' (and the last which isn't out yet; 'The Doors of Stone') I love these books
They're the closest thing I have ever read in epicness to The Lord of the Rings Enjoy

There are a ton of paintings of Kvothe out there. This one, in my opinion anyways. Well, it is the absolute best one. Some how using colors that I perceive as "cartoony" You still managed to make it the most realistic rendition of Kvothe I have seen. The colors really keep with the whimsical theme, of not only the piece but the person. I can not wait for Kingkiller 3. I give you many thanks, this will be the Kvothe I visualize while reading it.

I love how you gave him freckles! I think you also captured his mischievous/ confident/ content look very well! He's looking at me like he knows all the secrets to his story which we have to wait to find out! Can't wait till Doors of Stone comes out! Very nice !!

You perfect soul you, that's EXACTLY how it should be like. So accurate in relation to my mental picture... amazing =3 It's my favorite Kvothe fanart, you have no idea how hard a fangirled when I found it!
(also, Rothfuss is a genius. everybody should read his books. which makes you even more awesome than ages ago when I saw you were a Tolkien fan ^^)

I agree with bozkyra. I also think it looks like he has acne. But I know that's just freckles. If I look past those two things, it's fantastic, though.
