I made this for myself a while ago only I made it so much bigger than what your pattern was. He ended up being like three feet long with a wingspan of three feet. He turned out fantastic! I ended up making a saddle too. It's a great pattern.

Thanks for the pattern! I've cut it out and just started cutting pieces, but it just occured to me, am I supposed to cut an extra 1/4 inch around the pattern pieces, or is the seam allowance included in the pattern?
π: 0 β©: 2
Katy-A In reply to kwills84 [2013-09-15 21:00:55 +0000 UTC]
Seam allowance is not included in the pattern, good luck!Β

thanks so much for this!
I have no experience with sewing but when I get some time and money I'm going to try this LOL
I have a few questions tho
What fabrics do I use?
What fabric do I use for the eyes, and is that round thing on page 1 labeled I and H are the eyes right? Just making sure lol
When I cut out the fabrics am I suppose to add those triangle tabs sticking out? Or is that just to make the diagram easier?
And last, I dont get the size? If I print out the paper is it actual size? Or if I wanted to make mine bigger than yours how would I do that? Especially if you didn't label the sizes?
Sorry for the silly questions, just a bit confuse...Thank you!

Question. Is it okay to use scrap booking scissors? Will it tear the fabric too much? I'm using a caviar black for it cause it has the spots Toothess has on his body. And thanks for sharing your design. I'm very grateful for this.

I'm curious, what are the little spikes on the pattern for? I've seen them on a few patterns.
π: 0 β©: 1
KittyKibitzer In reply to OhSoNear [2012-03-09 07:49:28 +0000 UTC]
You use the spikey bits to align other piece to this piece.
Does that make sense?

how big of paper should I use? when I tried printing on 8.5x11 paper it got all chopped up and I would like my Toothless ot be proper cuddling size.
π: 0 β©: 1
Katy-A In reply to crazyforchocobos [2010-11-24 17:55:11 +0000 UTC]
That should work. Try 'scale to fit page/media' option under print?
π: 0 β©: 1
crazyforchocobos In reply to Katy-A [2010-11-24 18:31:53 +0000 UTC]
okies! I might have to print on multiple pages becasue I want toohtless about 20 inches long proper cuddling size.
π: 0 β©: 1
Katy-A In reply to crazyforchocobos [2010-11-24 18:32:59 +0000 UTC]
Right, you'll probably have to in that case.
π: 0 β©: 1
crazyforchocobos In reply to Katy-A [2010-11-24 18:35:59 +0000 UTC]
yep, I don't even want to think about how much I'd need for a life size plushie...even though it'd be super cuddly it'd never fit in my dorm room.
so what do i ahve to do on print options to get the patterns for a 20 inch long toothless?
π: 0 β©: 1
Katy-A In reply to crazyforchocobos [2010-11-24 18:46:14 +0000 UTC]
Maybe scale it by 125%? That might work.

Thank you SO MUCH for this pattern!!! I have taken it and made little tweaks here and there (mostly to adjust for my mistakes!), and made it all much larger to make my own 6 foot "Toothless". I've received many comments and favs, but all the credit goes to you! Thanks again, Katy A!!! You've been a great inspiration!!!!!

Please help me, I'm having trouble printing these, it will print super small and fit all the design, or super big and cut off a bunch of it saying there was only 1 page.. Please help, I really want to make this for my friend!

Katy-A In reply to Angelgrljesse [2010-07-15 18:14:56 +0000 UTC]
Have you tried scaling to fit media?
π: 0 β©: 1
Angelgrljesse In reply to Katy-A [2010-07-16 01:14:00 +0000 UTC]
I don't even see that option -_-u Maybe I'm just computer dumb, but is there anyway you could hold my hand and walk me through it? If all else fails I'll just go to Kinko's and pay for them to get print.
π: 0 β©: 1
Katy-A In reply to Angelgrljesse [2010-07-16 04:58:30 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, is there a fit to A4 option? Or scale 100%? Or...fit page? Sorry, just thinking of all the ways I can x3. It should be under print preview if you're on a PC.
