My gf asked me to teach her fighting games once.
So I went ahead and made a plan. 2 pages of keywords, of course in the most logical order and thought about how to present and explain everything to her so that it's easily understandable with examples.
After showing her the list she lost interest immediately, she never touched a fighting game since =/
