After treating Wendi for her damaged wing, Dane takes a step into the hallway and over to Marlo, who is leaning against the wall and tapping his foot impatiently. He manages to look into Marlo's gaze of annoyance and speaks in a stern voice, "Young man…. I was told that you did this to the poor girl. Is that right?". Marlo gives the doctor a rude glare and then rolls his eyes, "Yeah, so what?". Not detecting a sign of remorse, Dane presses further, "Have you no remorse for what you have done to her?". Marlo scoffs, and continues to give Dane some mean looks. "Pshh. NO….. Why WOULD I be sowwy for Wendi's pwecious little wings?? She was showing them off to EVERYONE and it was pissing me off!", Marlo says as he clenches his fists. "So that's why you decided to tear her feathers out??", Dane raises his voice and continues on, "There shouldn't be ANY reason why you should purposely injure someone! She wasn't doing anything wrong, and you KNOW this.". Marlo then lashes out, "SHUT UP, OLD MAN!! You know NOTHING about me!!! I'll do whatever I want and you can't control me!!". Dane then takes a sigh and then regains his stern composure, ".... You're right. I don't know anything about you, but I do know that one day, this path you're going down is gonna have some serious consequences. When the consequences do catch up to you, good luck in getting me to lend you my services.", he stares coldly at Marlo, like he himself has given an ominous fortelling. "Don't say I didn't try to warn you.", he adds. Marlo scoffs annoyingly and says with much sarcasm in his tone "Pshh… OKAY old man. Like that's EVER gonna happen to ME.", he crosses his arms.
Dane sighs again and slowly looks past Marlo, ".... The door is over there, have a nice day.", as he gestures to the door. Marlo walks out angrily as Dane stands there with a look of mental exhaustion. "Hm?" he glances at Wendi who is looking around the corner. "Hey umm…. What did you mean by all of that? The…. 'Consequences' part…?", Wendi questions curiously. Dane gives her a gentle smile and replies "You needn't worry about that, my dear. That is up for Marlo himself to face. You should be focused on getting your wing better.". Wendi gives him a soft smile and then slowly nods, yet the questions still remain in her mind: What will happen to him? Will the draken she once knew be gone forever and replaced by the monster she's been seeing in him? What kind of consequences are in store for this Draken she knew as a kid? The questions still continued to raise in her mind, but she shakes them off, hoping to just get her wing better. There's no use in questioning Marlo or his actions anymore, right now she can only see what happens from here, hopefully from at a distance.
