Description
VERY BIG AAHAHA-----
Final Image: Congratulations! It's the FREAKING GRIM REAPER
I thought it might be fun to do an art process walkthrough, but I've never done this before, so I don't really know how these things work. But here you guys go! A hopefully-concise explanation of what I do to get my art to look the way it does.
Every piece I do follows this basic pattern, the exceptions being Steps 4 and 7, since those steps may vary based on the specific piece. I often have multiple focal elements in a picture, and depending on how the picture is set up, I either put them all on one layer and do Steps 3-6 once, or I separate the elements by layer and do Steps 3-6 multiple times.
Also!! I used a handwriting font!!
Anyway, please let me know what you think! I'd love some feedback!
Pokemon and Duskull belong to Nintendo.

Ahh thank you so much!! I'm so glad this was helpful to you even a little bit! I had fun making it and this setup has been pretty constant even up to now. It's really versatile, I think! ~
Thanks again, and it's so gratifying to hear that you like this

This is a very interesting technique. I am quite terrified of the layer modes, mostly because I have no idea how to use them. Maybe in my next picture I'll try to make use of this! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much!! Hehe, layer modes a bit intimidating, especially if you've never used them before or have tried them once or twice. You can read up a lot about what they do, but the best thing you can do if you want to get more comfortable with them is just to dive right in and try them out! Maybe even do a test where you change layer modes on the same image and see what you like! I did a couple of trials before I found out how much I liked Linear Burn and Hard Light.Β
It was my pleasure! I'm so glad that you found this useful! ^^

I'm gonna see if i can pull this off with your tutorial, since I love painter-ish drawings, but my few attempts weren't very succesful :')

This took longer than I thought it would, but here's what came out of it! Β Octoremix -Splatoon spoiler- Β
(don't click the link if you don't want spoilers for Splatoon I guess x,D)
I meshed a lot of the ideas in your process with some of my own,
(like my sketch for instance was magenta colored and set to linear dodge- which helped me establish the really glowy look the piece has)
and I really loved the result a looooot ;v; I'll probably end up using this style a lot in the future for background painting or other interesting things.

It took me long enough to get to, but wow! I checked it out and it's really super amazing!! And that you even used some of the techniques here to do that just makes me feel so warm and gushy inside - it's so gratifying! Thank you for showing me this!!
