Kopa returned to the Pride Lands after a long absence. He was confronted by Vitani and her guard to gauge his threat level. Kopa tried explaining who he was to Vitani, but she had never heard of a "Kopa", let alone a second son of Simba and Nala.

Well that's because he wasn't Simba's son.. he was Scar's. He was born before Nala left to find help, when she was r*ped by Scar. She left little Kopa in the paws of another nursing lioness while she was gone.

Growing up he was compared to the evil lion, and many feared that he would become just like his father. Nala tried her best to raise him right so that he wouldn't turn out to be like him.

Simba was ready to try for an heir, but Nala was too scarred from Scar's cruelty to bear his cubs. Slowly she was starting to heal, with everyone's help. As Kopa grew into his teens, he could see his mother's pain. He found out his parentage, and he understood. He had to leave the pride and find his own way. Nala was distraught over her son's disappearance, but she soon moved on because she had to care for her young cubs (Kiara and Kion).

When he returned, full mane and everything, Nala was so happy to see him again that she wailed and cried tears of joy. She begged him to stay - that they would be a complete family soon with the addition of her next unborn cub. (this guy: www.deviantart.com/kaze-blue/a… )

However Kopa couldn't stay for long, as he revealed himself to be the King of his own pride.

Kopa ended up staying for weeks, in which time he and Vitani fell in love. He begged her to come with him, to live as his queen. But she refused, saying she had a duty to the pride lands as well as he had his own duty to his pride. Kopa sadly left the pridelands to return to his home.

Vitani soon found out she was pregnant...
