Zinnia was a very spirited cub and very independent, even from a young age. When it came time for her presentation ceremony, Kovu volunteered to carry her to the top of the rock.

That didn't sit well with her.

Normally, cubs picked up by their parent would curl up into a ball. But not Zinnia. She let her whole body droop down, like she was content with being held like a ragdoll. She had a scowl on her face and pressed her ears back.

"What is wrong with this cub?" Kovu exclaimed, "Why is she doing this?"

Kiara giggled. "She's definitely my daughter." She replied. "Not fond of being coddled and prefers to do things herself."

I took a long time to do this. I looked at a LOT of references and went through a few drafts before ending up with this result. The first draft was.. ugly to say the least. I wanted this to be perfect before I finished it and uploaded it.

The story behind this picture is thanks to my foster kitten. Whenever we pick her up by the scruff, she spreads her whole body out like she is flying rather than curl up in a ball.. like a superhero pose kind of. She is the only kitten I've seen do that and it only makes sense because she's such a brat.
