She didn't mean for it to slip out--but then again, despite her outwardly calm and cool exterior, she was an impulsive girl, and emotions that became too strong were the trigger to a bullet she couldn't stop.

"I love you."

If you'd asked her months ago, she would've scoffed in your face and walked away at the mere concept of even liking this thick-headed, blunt-as-a-brick-wall boy. Their relationship was meant to be strictly professional--he was falling behind in his classes and thus had suffering grades; she needed the extra credit to make up for all the demerits against her otherwise prestigious academic record, since her behaviour was unruly at best. She despised him at first--like most people she met; she didn't expect to feel anything other than resentment for this boy a grade below her.

But the days and weeks and months passed, and somewhere along the line as they walked home together (an ordinary evening, really), he'd wrapped his scarf around her to combat against the autumn cold. She'd closed her eyes and suddenly, all she was aware of was his scent, the feel of his lingering warmth given to her through the material of his scarf. She opened her eyes and it was when she sighted his back as he walked ahead of her that it dawned on her--

She realised that she loved this silly, ridiculous boy.

And what was an impulsive girl to do when she was met with such a shocking revelation? How was she supposed to contain it?

It was impossible.

The words were out, cast into the air, a bullet fired that she didn't even think possible was able to hurt.

But when she looked into Beanie's eyes, all she recognised was shock. Then, as the weight grew heavier in her chest and her gut started to twist with growing apprehension, she watched as his eyes slowly darkened and an expression she'd never seen before crossed his face.

"... You liar."

Then he turned his back to her and ran away, leaving her standing there shell-shocked as she watched his retreating back. There was a faint ringing in the air, as there usually was after the firing of a gun, and then after a beat, she felt her body moving, her feet stepping forward, breaking out into a run--

to chase this ridiculous, thick-headed boy who dared to tell her that her feelings were a lie.

Bast didn't mean for the words to slip out, but she was like a bullet and so help her--

she would get through to him.

This is part of the High School AU me and the BDAFFs have created where Bast doesn't die and they are normal people i.e. they don't have powers. Bast is a year older than most of them (including Beanie) and just--

This is a to-be-continued scene. I'm not sure when the next part of this will be revealed, actually, but BWAHAHAHA All my watchers know I love to keep you in suspense //IS SHOT AND BRICKED

But just in case, because it will probably take me awhile to get the next part out (I laugh), I would like to explain that Beanie isn't being purposefully mean/dismissive with Bast's confession/feelings here; he actually respects, admires, and cares about her very much. He just has a complicated past of his own, and he reacts to the word "love" very negatively-- more information about why will be revealed when Blue decides she wants his story to be out, but this is just a sneak peak~ It's what makes this confession scene so feelsy because llkdjlkfjewal YOU GUYS NEED TO WAIT

Anyway, AHEM, just like in the canon!Universe where there is this bizarre-o love triangle between Fishbait / Biba, in the GB!Highschool!AU, there is a triangle with Birnie (Bird x Beanie) and Beast (Beanie x Bast). Although, to give away the ending //bwahaha cries, Beast pretty much ends just like Biba //CRIES

But even more presh/feelsy because BAST ACTUALLY TELLS BEANIE HOW SHE FEELS, WHEREAS BABA NEVER SAYS ANYTHING TO BISTRE.
