Description
Daz3D / PhotoshopHi all
So after my last image (Riding Hood) which was a fantasy pic, I've decided to try and create some portraits in a few different genres. This one is detective noir. I tried to capture the classic light in eyes look.
The model is various figures mixed up, with some 50's clothes I had. The light strip is created with the light projector system. Other lighting is HDRI, 3 spots and a globe emitter for a catch light.
It was rendered in canvases and put together, then balanced in Photoshop (where the smoke was added).
Horror and sc-fi next!
Thanks for looking

Absolutely amazing artwork... A story told without a single word... classic, elegant, done with style...

You did it again Neil! Β Dramatic lighting and execution in every detail. Β I see where canvases is very helpful in this type of situation for getting ultimate control over your lighting. Β This reminds me of something straight out of a movie scene and fantastic composition. Β You really know how to weave a story without saying a damned thing. Β Bravo!

Thanks Mel, I always appreciate your comments Yeah, canvases can really help when doing dark scenes, I just like that extra level of control. And when you start adding things like blurs etc to the layers you can get some really interesting effects. With regards to the story telling, I try to get the story from my head to the image. Sometimes it works, other times not so much! It's a lot of fun to do though. Thanks again!

You are so welcome. You definitely have my interest in using canvases as I like ultimate control especially when it comes to lighting.Β I spend most of my time doing just that very thing...lighting. lolΒ I need to take some time and learn all about canvases and see if it can help me evolve.Β You use it so well and that's obvious in everything you're doing as of late.
