a provocative image for sure Β ........... something about turning a sunflower into a shower of light protecting the inhabitants of this slice of reality is very interesting - may I ask what the four bright orbs of light represent?Β I'm not sure they add much to the overall image?Β - a bit distracting, no?Β just wondered what the thought behind them was ....Β Β

The background was inspired the Pleiades Star Cluster.Β Β The idea was inspired by an old sunflower that grew in the back yard....one of those huge, friendly sunflowers that patiently endure scorching heat and hailstorms and seemed cut out for the role of protector.Β The girl was inspired by the young lady who actually did the pose.Β She was a good model, but prone to bad, sullen moods.Β The sunflower is doing its best to protect and comfort her, but can only do so much, while she sinks into gloomy despair, despite the wonders through which they drift.

Fantastically beautiful work. The little animals around the graceful woman seems so wonderful. I love the shining sunflower. Such a light is the best light on the earth. The colorful stars makes the whole picture perfect! You're a super artist!

Thank you! I got the idea from a big sunflower that grew in my back yard...and also, I suspect, from The Little Prince, which I read a long time ago. Β I like sunflowers!

Sunflowers seem to have a lot of personality....all in my imagination of course...they seem to be old, wise and quite friendly.

Wise and friendly they are in my imagination too and I like the soft, smooth petals.

Also: they are very easy to grow....as a sometimes gardner that is always worth bonus points!

Thank you: this was inspired by several different things: and old battered sunflower, the book "The Little Prince" and a young lady who seemed to live in a constant state of mourning despite the everyday wonders around her. Β I am sure other sources could be found too Β

Stunning.Β Absolutely stunning.Β It says so very much.Β It expresses the core of me and what is important to me - how I feel with all of nature as a part of the universe.Β Thank you.

I don't know why I love this picture, but for some odd reason it makes me want to grab a blanket and curl up to block out the rest of the world in a way. I just love that feeling of being able to escape the weight of reality beneath my trusty blanket to steal time from a cold relentless reality.

Thank you! Β I think the picture was about blocking out reality...or about creating a little island of your own personal reality while adrift in this larger, unforgiving reality. Β

Thank you...I still can't recall how I came up with what is now a pretty obvious idea. Β I wonder if anyone has actually designed kids' lamps that look like sunflowers.

If I had the resources I would work with a lamp maker and create floor lamps that looked like sunflowers. It does seem like a logical lamp design. I know I'd buy one.

The giant leaves would make good shelves. Β I looked on Amazon to see if anyone else was making them....nope. Β I'll put the project on my back burner.

I did a google search. Don't see any sunflower lamps. I think you got something there. I bet they'd be a big seller.
