The image has really made the rounds on the internet. Every now and then someone will post in on Reddit or elsewhere and I get a tone of faves and views.Β I hope at least that it gets some more people over here to DA!

The day I picked up Foundation and The Songs of Distant Earth, it felt so close yet so distant. I regret seeing this picture, because now I have to buy a printed version of it. I would really like to see more space/scifi related artworks from you!

Trying to remember the three laws from Foundation...one was Never ket your morals prevent you from doing what is right.Β I loved Songs of Distant Earth.Β I think Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells) did an album (which I haven't heard) based on the tale.

Outstanding, I love the contrast between warm interior and cold space. In my opinion this is far more fleshed out than the original, great work!

Thank you!Β I would like to follow up on this theme...feline astronauts...or perhaps pets in general in futuristic settings.Β I like the idea of all kinds of animals getting to go along on the adventure.

Is there a reason why the Art Print and Canvas options have a cropped image? The green light and red shadow of the liquid is gone for example.

Keithspangle In reply to Quickzor [2018-05-31 17:29:52 +0000 UTC]
I wasn't aware that was happening...thanks for letting me know.Β I guess they had to crop it like that to fit the media...I believe that I have discontinued the "fine art print" choice...I really didn't like the cropped image.

Thank you! Β Hmmm...let's see....if you go to my page and click on "Gallery" then click onΒ the image of Ship's Cat Revised, it will put you on a page with an enlarged version of the pic.Β Over on the right should be an area that says Buy This print...I think it should be self-explanatory from there....I hope!Β Β Thank you again!

Just saw this posted (uncredited) on a FB page, and instantly wanted it on my wall. Ditto all whatΒ xDeeKay Β said. I would love to see a series, like the cat at different locations on the ship. If I had a million dollars, I'd commission it all to you just for more paintings. Can't wait to purchase my print!
(And I posted a link in the comments of the photo. Hopefully the page will update and more people will come visit.)

I fell in love with this piece as soon as I saw it, I had to buy a framed copy right away. To me it's the familiar vs the unfamiliar, what we know and what we don't know, and being in between these two things. It makes me wonder what the cat is thinking of. Does it know that it's looking into the endless universe, or does it just think those spaceships are the birds it used to stare at back at home, or that the planets are simply the backyard under the nights sky? Anyway, I absolutely love it

Β Thank you! Β Anyone who actually spends money on anyone's art work gets bonus points from me!
I can only guess at the cat's thoughts; if it is anything like the cat who posed for this (the late Gomer the Cat) then he is just enjoying being a cat, with a view from a sunlit vantage point. Β Perhaps he is daydreaming of a house window with a view of a garden full of birds....I will leave that to your imagination!
Tanks again!
