oil on canvas 36"X60" This is a large and not entirely successful piece that I showed in a previous Deviant incarnation. I probably should have had her floating above the Earth rather than striding across it.She was meant to represent some thinking of mine on the idea that blessings and curses often have the same source, or that what is a blessing may also be a curse: she carries a sword in her left hand yet distributes blessings with her right; she is dressed in black and white, and below her the world is desert on her left and fertile on her right. This was not meant to endorse in particular religious viewpoint.

This is mafnificent.... No, wait, better like that... MAGNIGICENT!!! I Love and adore all your works, but this from the first sight became my most favourite.
I see her flying not striding. And I think it's the best way you could put her in the picture. But it's only my opinion.

I don't see her striding. I think she does fly although the world is pretty close. I like it. The lighting is just striking.

Thank you...I had fun with the model who posed for this...it was back in the days of film. I didn't have a sword handy, so I posed her with a small hatchet. I always wondered what the developer thought we were doing.

Thank you! Power beyond our control gives us the thing: sometimes we can control whether it is a blessing or a curse. Maybe not, I am not much of a philosopher.

Thank you. I can't recall exactly WHICH blessing turned curse set off this idea...I suppose it would be different for each person. I think a cool variation on the painting would be to show her as seen from the ground as HUGE, like you are looking up through the clouds with a tiny landscape below.

Yeah. Being picky is one of those blessing/curses. Without it you don't improve, but it prevents you from ever really enjoying your own art as a finished product...no piece is ever truly complete.
