Description
From several years back when I lived up in Santa Fe. One day a raven showed up who was completely unafraid of me...which left me wondering if young ravens, like him, are hatched without an instinctive fear of people. I introduced him to Ritz crackers (you can see cracker crumbs on his beak in this photo) and showed him how to make that raven favorite: Cracker Soup (pick up all the crackers and drop them in the bird bath, which softens them into a delicious glop). He eventually moved on. I hope he is doing well.Related content

Hew was such a good model! I would see him way down the street in a tree...I would hold up a cracker, he would see it and fly as fast as he could to get his treat. Then he would spend a while just hanging out . Perhaps he was feeling lonesome and was also happy to have a companion, even if it was just a mere human.

Probably smarter than the "they" that say they are smarter than apes.

Thank you! He was a good model! It actually seemed as though he LIKED having his picture taken.
