Thank you! There is a metal picnic table just outside of the kitchen window...the other day I saw a roadrunner perched on it, peering into the kitchen. This gave me the idea of putting a seed feeder on the table and shooting pictures of the birds who show up for dinner...the local clan of blue jays were the first to take me up on the offer.

Awesome, that is a cool idea! I am sure those jays were! Any squirrels around? Usually where there are blue jays there are squirrels too.
It is always my pleasure, Keith!

No squirrels of late. But I did see a very young bobcat.

Aww, when I was young I used to want to have a bobcat, but they are really pretty wild. I have seen cats that were supposedly crossbreeds of both species and that is actually what I wanted, but I never knew if that was a truth or a rumor only and apparently Science still isn't sure if it is possible and the cats are NOT talking!

I thought I was looking at somebody's stray Manx...it wasn't until I tapped on the window and I got a look at his face that I realized what it was. I would not be surprised to see a hybrid one of these days.

They are beautiful! They get pretty large too, more so than domestic cats. They have really beautiful markings too.

This one was pretty small...the size of a full grown cat...so he may have been a hybrid after all, or just a very young bobcat.

Yes, could be either. Did it have large foot pads when he walked or could you see enough to tell. sometimes they grow into their feet if they are big.

In looking at different pictures of bob-kitties, they come in a variety of color shades and spots and stuff, up to about 25 pounds but their paws are really large. That might be a way to tell. Just a thought.

I Googled Bobcat Kittens and got a few images that looked right.

Ohh, okay, well one of the things bobcats do is come back into habitats that humans have overtaken. Some states years ago had a bounty on them and of course the population rises and falls with rabbit and hare populations as well since they are the main prey of bobcats. Hmm, maybe this guy is looking for birds to eat and has found what it thinks is a handy food supply? I don't know. I love cats, and I love birds too but you know how that is...

If he can learn to stay away from the birds and show up at the back door, I will probably start saving treats(tuna, or chicken) for him.

Yeah, that is what I would do. I hate mackerel and usually if I end up with some, I feed it to my kitty-boy. I am not much of a fish eater, don't like tuna, or salmon either, although I can tolerate it if I "doctor" it up with boiled eggs, dill relish, onions, other spices, mayo and stuff like that.

I usually have serval cans of tuna in the cupboard, so if a well behaved and hungry kitty should show up and ask politely, I will have something available.
