Hoping to get some hype worked up for my upcoming contest! For those who haven't guessed by my rather obvious hints, it'll be surrounding the Montem and Volucra! I'm going to try to get all 6 Montem posted before I announce the theme and begin the official work period, but hopefully getting to know them all beforehand inspires you guys!

Please feel free to ask questions or request clarification of any of the info presented. I'm hoping to also make head shots of all their past lives, which may or may not play an optional part of the contest.

I will allow downloads of these to contest entrants upon request once the work period starts, just ask me via note once the contest begins, and I will send you a link to the reference you request for closer inspection, color sampling, etc.

*The Montem are essentially Golems holding the souls of their former selves. Currently, all are the souls of elves that were men in their previous lives, but a woman could potentially be resurrected as a Montem once one of the original six decides their time is up. Aside from appearance and voice, they lack genetalia to distinguish gender I had tried putting it on there in a previous iteration of their designs, but it just didn't end up working.

**Jace, a mouse elf (human sized) was killed during a hazing of Edan, who was a magic weilding Oracle elf (Avg. Cyanian Elf Size).
For hundreds of years before the White War, conflict brewed about appropriate and fair usage of magic and technology. Those naturally gifted with adept magical abilities like Oracle Elves were feared and hated by other, less adept elves. Edan was one of few who ventured out beyond a protective monastary where his gift was cherished, and was often hazed in minor events before the one that took Jace's life. It was then that Edan took his friend to sacred grounds and pleaded to the gods to save him, and by a miracle that has only happened 6 times in the history of Cyanos, Jace's soul was captured and placed into a stone Golem, creating the first of the Montem. Edan followed soon after, and the Cyanian White War officially began roughly 100 years after their transitions, fueled by the growing segregation between magic users, technology developers, and average elves. By the end many forms of magic and technological development (weaponry, etc.) were outlawed.

***None of the Montem have been formally measured. Their measurements are rough estimates, translated into human equivalents for our purposes here. Size guides will be available on all these reference sheets to make it easier to figure out.
