I've FINALLLY finished it! The digital painting series I've been working on! This one is the last piece for the trio of digital paintings you've seen recently~ I'm planning to enter them into a local gallery exhibition, so I'm stoked and proud to say I've done it! This was definitely the hardest and most complicated, because I've never drawn mountains and it was ridiculously time-consuming to get to a point where I was satisfied with the outcome. Still iffy, but happy. The mountain was inspired by 77chen 's painting, 'Mountain '
This one, titled Senescence is in reference to the land and natural environment we live in itself and the 'biological aeging'. To sum it up, the idea of these paintings revolved around the 'Moon' as mentioned in my last piece; that regardless of our changes in the environment, urbanization, pollution, global warming and deforestation etc., the Moon and stars will always remain the same, relatively at least.
For those who haven't seen the other two, here they are:
Hope you like it, and hope you've liked the series!

Wow this piece, visually, is very inspiring. I'm so impressed with the line work and quality, the use of light and color. Overall the piece feels very cohesive. I really like the strange dripping quality of the moon and how that quality is referenced on the arm of the figure. I am most impressed with your line work in what I read as hair in the top third of the piece. It has a golden glowing quality that really resonates with me. As far as suggestions go, they're mainly nit picking. While I love what you've done with the piece I really wish I could see more of the moon, considering the story behind the piece, and the other pieces in the series. Maybe just the top of the moon so I know what it is without reading the back story? Also I do find the circle right in the center of the picture to be somewhat distracting, the one below the figure's elbow. With the many rays of horizontal light reaching right through this circle my eye is drawn there before anything else. You may also not need as many swirling rays of light? Just suggestions and again really just nit picking here. I am honestly very impressed with this work and I wish you the best of luck at the exhibition!

Thanks so much for all the thought and consideration you put into this lovely critique, let alone for sparing some time to do so!
I do definitely agree with the distracting elements! Really was unsure about having that circular lens flare around there, and seeing as now I'm not the only one, I should really fix it up! Thought it might be too distracting haha.
Though the moon is technically the central idea or message, I didn't want it to overpower the pieces as it is a large white circle. The fact that it's more obscured and hidden behind 'the scenes' was meant to let the rest of the elements take focus, such as the Mountain etc. By viewing the series, the obscurity of the Moon throughout the series was meant to kind of hint at the idea of always remaining the same despite not being so noticed. Moreso in this and Decadence rather.
Thank you so much again though, for the critique! Hope I can get a welcoming response from the gallery!

This is my favorite of the series, but I want to get all three and hang them on my wall and just stare.

Thanks so much! YEAH, I'm stoked with how they all sit together! It really is so awesome to see them haha. Not to be boastful or anything, it's just I'm so proud of how it's turned out and happy with what I've come up with, which is rare!!

It doesn't sound boastful at all. I know how rare it is for an artist to be happy with their own work, but when it happens? Bliss. Enjoy and good luck with the exhibition.

Hey, Wonderful job! Glad you've finished the series, take pictures of your art in the gallery? A suggestion would be to lessen the light around her body, because my eyes seem to be more drawn to there rather than a piece as a whole. Maybe moving the light so that there's a backlit on the face (so the source is the moon?) Eh, idk, there's a lot to look at, which makes it really interesting. Wonderful job though, really, everything else seems to be in a perfect harmony *-*

Thanks so much!!! Stoked to see it turn out so well myself, and even moreso to hear the support and kind comments of people liek yourself!!!!! I definitely will take pics, if they get accepted that is! Hehe
Oooo, that's actually a really interesting point I never noticed! I was hoping using the stronger lights on either side of her would kind of even and distribute the focus alot rather than on the central moon/face, kind of like a 'triangle', but I do see what you mean! It is a bit overpowering
Thanks so much for spending the time to read into it though, and especially provide a critique! I'll definitely try to make sure the use of 'glows' arent overpowering next time~

nice. this makes me wonder what her eyes are like. almost like one of those horror movies when you see a beautiful girl and when they turn around to show their face it is scary XD

Thanks Steve!! HEHEHHE a few people have commented on the eyes as well. but i guarantee you, she'd be a gorgeous lady The point of masking the eyes was to create the illusiveness and kind of veil the idea amongst the entire piece, rather than giving acentralised focus. So even though she's the prominent figure, she's not the 'most important' because the eyes kind of hold her back!
