Description
~Blobman Physics II~** I am still trying to create a pre-loader. Please wait a little while until the animation loads up. ^^
This is a more complex and *FUN* physics simulation with many extra contraptions included. It starts by dropping the yellow ball at the left and it will cause a chain-reaction that ultimately tosses Blobman (the white plushie doll) all the way to the marked "X" target location.
This is also my first time posting a flash program into my gallery. I created this little user interface using 28 lines of MXML and ActionScrip3 programming. As opposed to Flash authoring programs, AS3 programming has no "frames", no "timeline" and no drag-and-drop. You just write your program in a text editor and compile it to create a Flash application. The animation was created in Poser and embedded into this MXML Flash program in compile time. Then my little AS3 program takes control and shows it to you with this simple but practical interface.
The animation is a little jagged because I disabled AA (antialiasing) speed up the render. With AA off, the entire animation renders in less than 1 minute. With AA on, it would easily take an hour!!
Anyway, hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

I started with a text editor and the free Adobe SDK, but now I adopted Flex because it saves me the trouble of doing all of repetitive work by hand. It's ActionScript3 + MXML, which I now believe to be a killer combination - much better than AS3 alone.

This one is cool. I wonder if you put that X mark actually AFTER making the whole sequence...

Thanks! The X mark was just a visual reference for people to see what was the purpose of the entire contraption. Every time the simulation was run the plushy would fall at a different location, so the X mark only works for this particular one.

Thank you! It's actually not so hard when I have a physics engine doing the calculations for me. All I have to do is setup the blocks to give them proper mass, position and size. When the values are correct, the animation works.

mm it was great fun to watch ^^
Is the physics simulation something incorporated with poser? or did you animate it all on your own?

Poser doesn't originally ship with a physics engine, but I've bought a 3rd party one that was available when Poser 7 first came out. I pre-ordered Poser 7 and received some coupons as a gift, which I used to but the physics engine. In the end I've got it for free (coupons!!), but it didn't work until 7 months later because it was originally meant for Poser6 and Poser7 used a different version of Python script. I think a lot of people bought it but so far I haven't seen anybody else using it. ^^

I also wish I could animate everything I wanted. Poser has limitations when it comes to animation, and I am already looking for another program to create the animations with, and then re-import them back to Poser for rendering.

I believe think mu gallery is one with the most *variety* out there. Besides 3D graphics, I also posted animations, physics simulations, speaking characters with lip sync, original fantasy writing, flash programming, photography with fully seamless 360 interactive panoramas, my original music compositions in over 6 musical styles, and much more. I think my gallery is about that - variety. ^^

Just like in real-life, every time I run the simulation it happens differently. ^^
