Disclaimer: I do not own Guitar Hero, but I do own my original characters, like this one. This is Shining Nova's bassist, Emily Sarcosky, or as others would call her, Emeraude Saber! She's a bit of a tomboy with a taste for black metal. According to my story, her mother died of Breast Cancer when she was little. Eventually her father also took ill; all the years of smoking were finally starting to take its toll on his body. Since the illness left him bedridden, Emeraude's older sister was forced to drop out of school and get a part-time job just to support her family and make ends meet. Eventually, the family gathered enough money to send Emeraude to San Francisco so she can attend high school there. Up until that point, she never had any friends; she never bothered to seek them out, since she was happy being with her family. Thrust into a world filled with strangers, Emeraude found it hard to trust anybody entirely. So at the beginning of the story, she was distant toward the other teens around her, even the new kid in town, Slifer Inferno. The remarkable thing is that Slifer was the first person she opened up to, when one day they both discovered that they had something in common: their passion for rock, and the electric guitar. As the days passed she began to open up to her other companions as well; this is just one of the things that inspired Slifer and Nautlius to form the rock band Shining Nova.
The elemental Earth magic is what defines Emeraude, specifically forest magic. She can conjure mighty oaks that bend and flex, with twisting branches and vines to entangle enemies. She could also summon mighty beasts to aid her against the minions of darkness. Naturally she has a soft spot for animals, a fact that delighted Slifer when he introduced her to his beloved dog, a husky mix named Hendrix.
I had a very hard time fleshing out Emeraude, especially when it concerns further details of her personality and background, including flaws, and how I might weave it in a way so that it can shape the storyline, especially when she has a time to shine. But what I do know is this: Eventually the friendship between Slifer and Emeraude grew into something more beautiful, which is love. Yep, I actually got myself a pairing with these two original characters, but it's certainly not the only pairing!
This is a difficult pose I set up for this young bassist, for I intended to make her body look like it was twisting from the waist, showing the back side of her legs while expressing the frontal view from the waist up. Her bass guitar, Forest Beat, makes it all the more harder to tell (T_T) Other than that, I'm satisfied with the outlook of my work. (^__^)
If you have any ideas concerning Emeraude and her personality, please let me know. I need all the inspiration I can get before I start writing my fanfiction! Either way, I hope you enjoy my drawing of her.
