Description
I thought I'd share a series of pictures that depict how I would start a painting fresh on Photoshop, Starting From Scratch. So, in this picture I've roughly painted the shape of the subject, a glowing portal ( the same Portal as seen in my "Pathfinder" work, just as the subject this time ). You can see where I intend to be the light source of this picture, and what I intend to be the shadows. I also took a basic palette of the tones I want to use for this picture, from highlights to shadows.

I have left some notes on another layer ( The notes/palette layer are the same, for easily deleting later ).

Feel free to use this as a guide if you like!
