Again, I really couldn't care less about football, but still.... that's hometown pride for ya'.

I dont care about football but watch the playoffs and super bowl if (and only as long as) the Steelers or Panthers are in it.
That said, I hate the Patriots and hope the other team wins, no matter who it is

It always irritates me when people say "we" for sports teams. I was just thinking of that when these guys in my Chem. class were talking about the 49er's. I'm not sure why it annoys but the only thing I can think of is that it's like they're taking credit for the wins by saying that when all they do is watch and if they're real fans then possibly support them by buying and supporting them economically.

It got kind of like that too here in the bay area for the past week when the Niners played the Giants. My dad was pretty much screaming at the tv and then when they lost, when I came into school in the morning my teachers were really sad. It had been a long time since any of us had been to the Superbowl. I think my uncle and some other people cried at the stadium.

Actually, "into" or "in to" used in in that manner is a colloquialism and not accepted as proper English, so it falls just outside the Grammar Police's jurisdiction. ;D

Ah, but there is a big difference between "widely accepted" and "grammatically correct", which you implied the latter by invoking the grammar police, so I stand by my previous statement.
