Please full ViewI spent a good deal of my free time today adding the colour to this. Wouldn't have taken so long if I wasn't always leaving home to go out and do stuff/see people - but it's just gone midnight, and I'm now done. :3
And did I not say Light Jak was going to be a sparkly whore of sparkledom?
The two top pannels are my faves for sure. Most of all the second, with a sort of 'scan' running across his eye as he transforms into Light Jak.
And if you're that desperate to know what the precursor text says...then go to Naughty Dog's website and print out the chart, because I've answered that question one too many times to keep from going insane.
Yup. I will now do a Dark Jak version of this art for sure.

The part that sticks out the most, but is far more subtle (somehow, it made sense in my head e_e ) is Jak's hair riiiiiiiiight in the middle. It's so...pale o_o and soft. And pretty ;-; It makes my eyes cry with joy.
Words fail me (unlike a certain someone else up there, so Im not even gonna TRY anyway xD!! ) so I'm simply gonna fav it, save it, and stare at it for hours @_@ *eyeballs go numb*

jeeez. you wanna know what i think? i think your traditional stuff doesn't look that traditional anymore. it's gotten so smooth, and though ive said that in the past, it's pretty much official. my eyes would frikken bulge if i tried to strain them just to fine ONE scratchy piece of evidence to prove this was traditional if i were a new comer to your stuff, BUT I DON'T SEE ANY. yeah, you've mastered the term 'prisma colors.' x3
this really stands out from all your other comic set-up pictures. the array of colors makes it look so vivid, and your ability to color naturally kicks all of our asses anyway, so it's really awesome. i cant tell you how much i love the eye scan, without then actual line...it makes a huge difference in color, so ya dont NEED a line. x3 i love the overall coloring of the eye too, especially eer...'real' jak. <3 looks absolutely gorgeous, and the simple dots and sparkles in LJ's half works well too.
okay, now im gonna start at the first panel...sorry for skippin around.
his hair, oh my DAMN, his HAIR. x_x it looks so full, and the thin white line defining the shine is just...YUM. i really need a white gelpen or somethin', because it just makes an awesome effect. not to mention the shape...just the shape...i love how you didnt square off the ends of his sideburns like ND does...i hate that. ND makes it look so weird, and it crowds his face, but this is just perfect. :3 and his nose is so curvy and pushable! X3 and then his lips are so pouty! <3 nyah! i wuv how you draw him like that. luvluvit. and then there's the way he's not in the panel. GAH, makes it look so much more interesting.
aaaand, the texture and shine of the buildings looks nice...thats what makes this stand out the most, color wise.
i adore the 3rd shot of him, with his cute widdle pudgy face, kinda like 'heeeey?' X3 then there's the way you draw cloth all angular-like. <3 that's love, indeed. blues and purples look nice in this, and its so smoooooooth! the sparklies!
and for the record, your precursor writing is teh sekz.

Lovely. Simply lovely. The whole naked Jak adds a hell of lot of holy-ness and symbolism on his light powers. I mean, the first panel alone shows his face in a very peaceful manner. It's like his content, at peace. And did I mention the sparklesmake this pic even pretty and very appriorate. Beautiful. Now, I need to move my ass and draw Light Jak which I haven't officially done.

I agree with your sis -- how DO you provoke the salivation glands to rupture at the sight of something that is holy and beautiful? It just boggles the MIN! As insanely jealous of you as I am right now (and I'm sure every other adoring fans thinks that as well), I hope for the best that you can make a career out of this, because if you DO NOT, there is something fundamentally wrong with the universe. Honestly, if you don't get hooked up with this for a living, then there's no hope for me, either, as a comic book artist.
Something in your artwork seems to inspire all of us to the call of creativity for creativity's sake, I tell ya...

Okaayyy. Where do –I- start?
As I am listening to my lovely Jing CD and just… just GAPING… at this amazing collection of… GOD LET ME SEX IT NOW… I mean. I feel wordless X_X (wordless, and a bit worthless! XD)
I just ADORE how wiry you make Jak. His neck, with the adams apple of adorableness and JEEZUS JUST THE HAIR. *MELTS* I don’t know how Im gonna deal with all this! BUT I HAVE TO COMMENT! XD Okay. Okay start from beginning again. Top to bottom! First- Sideview. I would actually have to say that the profile view would be one of my top favorite panels, because of… EVERYTHING. Basically, its showing the world Jak has come from, compelte with color comparisons and EVERYTHING. OH GOD I JUST CANT SAY HOW MUCH I LOVE IT ;o; The background is gorgeous, with such… natural metalicism, looks straight from a NDI guidebook! The coffee background was a REALLY nice choice instead of blue, trust me, because it gives such a worn and weathered look to it- which is magical in its old-world rustic sense, in contrast to the ‘spiritual world’ magic you see with Light Jak. Yes, Nicki LOVES the precursor metal structures! But even more, she loves Jak’s head X_X The sideview of him is by far your best like EBAR. Like, makes me want to leave Dax in the dust and… NO I DIDN’T JUST SAY THAT. @_@ *disturbed* Butbutbut… his skintones are FLAWLESS. I take it you got your goldenrod replenished? XD You did some AMAZING blending on this. I mean like ‘omfg Nicki you’re worthless Kai can KEECK j00R ASS!’ blending XP (Not that sis would ever WANT to kick nicki’s rear, just commenting on the absolute godliness of it!) His hair is choppy and wonderful and gorgeous and so cleancut, with such MAGIKUL little highlights in it, and he looks so… regal yet humble at the same time. The cheekmarks look a little like scars, which help the effect even more :3
OMG, yes. ‘The man with the green facial hair’ strikes again in all his glory. XD GO SECOND!MUM DESCRIPTIONS!
The scan going over his eye is SO unbeatably clever. When I saw the lineart, I was just like OKAY EYE W00t, but this is GOOD. The transition from dark blue (the color of his skin in the other bit) to ice blue is just like… droolworthy. And the white sparklimarks! MMMMMFFF BEAUTIFULLL. You can tell there’s SO much attention to detail in this, it just makes me sick XD In a good, squishy way. Yes, in a good squishy way. I LOVE IT. *stares eento Jak’s eye for HOURS* :0~~~~
And we have a little Adam’n’Eve!Jak coverin’ his bad self with a little bit of scarf! XP NOT commenting on his nudity (*WINCEWINCEdonthurtme*) I just love how he’s posing a bit, ‘cos it almost looks like some of davinci’s old paintings of angels. Just a remindermemorything! ^___^ I ADORE HIS HAIR. Its all fly-y free and beautiful! Though the sparkles are a little much to swallow in this panel XD GAHHH DEATH BY WHITE SHINY THINGS! ‘gasmic shading on the scarf EVERYWHERE though. It just looks so warm and rough and touchable ;o; *umfumfs it* Cos ye know the Ottsels love it XD
And AGAAAAAIn not commenting on nudity, but Jak’s butt there in the larger view is so cute X_X *listening to the Jing SHA-LALA song whilst gooshing about Jak!bums XD* Omfg how messed up is little Nicki by Kai’s addictions? VERY MESSED UP. *squees brainlessly and dances about* This picture… takes so long to look at. It takes so long to notice EVERYTHING about it, that it just blows my mind. IM TRYIIINNGG to learn and look at and know everything, but so much of it just hits me and I go WAH~! So. Yeah. HERE WE GO XD The fact that you lightened up Jak’s arms past his wings, because they’re semitransparent? Pash me now, woman. I don’t know why I didn’t notice it straight off, but its flawless. Jak himself could’ve used a little more variation in the face in regards to blending (his features get a little… lost among the blue) but I still adore it.
His expression is delightfully blank XD SO SWEET. and it looks like the wing bits are jutting right out of his SPINE and that makes anatomically!correct Nicki a very happy girl. The scarf bit looping around his waist is just so... DELICATE AND SWEET for some reason. AND WOO, PRECURSOR! XD (which my Kai translated for me HAHA BIZNATCHES TAKE THAT I mean whoops :0 ....Like anyone besides you is gonna take the time to read all this!??! HONESTLY.) It just... BOGGLES me how much detail you put into this ;o; It makes me tear up, honestly. But yes- the curve of Jakku's back, and this anatomy just in general? gorgeousssss. *hiss* OH BEAUTIFUL. Warm scarf and cool body, awesome color difference! It just adds such an air of rustic umf to it- just like the top panel!
The bottom precursor with the sparkliness reminds me so much of a childrens book text that it just makes me happy. I have NO idea why. But the .. dottywhite goodness. You need to send me that new pen you found! XD *leaps on shoulders and gnaws on ears voraciously* GIVE ME SPARKLE POWERS WOMAN! GIIIIIIVE TO ZIIIIIIIIHM! :0 *WIGGLY FINGERS WITH... LITTLE... SICKY NOISES*
Focus on the bottom panel, focus on the friggin bottom panel Nicki.... X_X
That last one, the VERY last one of him? Mmm. So finalizing. *sighs happily* This just gave me an absolute and utter joy to look at, the WHOLE thing. It made me happy like an image hasnt in a LONG time. You pulled off the blue shading/contrast/lighting in his face much better this time, and I love how you did it! He just looks so... peaceful and majicked. The angle of his face and neck, and where you know his shoulder would be is beautimous. he looks like he's leaning forward to fall, and I just love it unholy-ly. BEAUTIFUL EVERYTHING, KAI.
You make me drool. XD WHY? WHY CAN YOU PROVOKE DROOLING? *lol* Thick or Thin Prismas? I dunno if I've ever seen a difference in them before, but...I guess they'd be the thin ones. They're not really that thick, and can get really fine if you sharpen them to a good point - very handy for small areas of colour and corners.

But for some reason even though I knew it was Light Jak I wasn't seeing the Light-Jakness.. But now I see it. My those blues are so saturated and lovely. @_@ I just want to bathe in that blue color.. It's so pretty. And then the top with the.. Precursor Thingamabobs! X__X Eeks, they're so nicely colored too.
