Description Everyone's been begging me for one of these, so here it is! It does require a basic knowledge of Photoshop, but I hope it's detailed enough to help at least a little. ^_^

It's easy when you determine where your light is coming from. Just use a lot of references and practice. It's not something that's going to happen overnight

Excellent guide, thanks. Seems my coloring has been my weak-point my entire duration of drawing.

Just some questions... if you dont mind

The layer you call lineart, is it transparent? because when i try, it isnt, and when i color the base layer it doesnt show at all.... then, when i use the magic wand, it makes it so that the color outside the lines show, but not inside, and there is this white stuff around the edges of the lineart... so it didnt quite work out on jasc paint shop :S hehe, but the tut was usefull anyway

Kholran In reply to xx-kittycat [2007-04-20 13:43:48 +0000 UTC]

When you draw your lineart, make it a different layer. It will be transparent. When you save lineart from the internet, it's all one layer because it's flattened. (and be sure to get the artist's permission before using lineart from the 'net if it isn't from a free coloring book site)

Wooooow. o:

I need to use this sometime, I'm -pretty- sure it should work on Gimp, too. ^^

And thank you for creating such a useful tutorial. :33

Although, I'm sure that I'll ruin the help it's supposed to give me with my awful skills, but that's pretty much my problem. x]
