I love your pixels,but a crique= You only say (?) how put the color (I don't know that is right writed(?))
And you doen't put how we move the eyes for put the animation, an the base ;A;
What brush you use?This is important (?)
But forgeting that, your tutorial is cute! Do other putting how we do the base, the animation etc.. I hope you understand my bad english, and you paint very good ^^

the brush is written in the tutorial (mapping pen), and the animation is there too
i didn't put colouring though, but i do it quite in a random way and didn't know how to explain it!

Aha where do I start? Well, lets just say that this is highly helpful for beginning pixel artists - like me - and artists in general. I like how detailed and original your pixel tutorial is, this helps out a lot because many people love details, but icons are very small, so that could become an issue. I love how you change the lineart colors! A lot of artists stick with one/two colored lineart, and that could get a little boring depending on the artist, but your lineart is full of colors! It's eyecandy!
The flatcolor vs. shading is superb. Personally, I can't shade for the life of me, especially with icons. I normally stick with flatcolor icons, but this is VERY helpful.
I also have mangastudio and find it hard to draw pixels, and this tutorial is full of valuable information that could be used in the future of my pixel art.

First of all, thank you so much for creating this tutorial. Here are my thoughts on it and how it can improve as a tutorial:
You can definitely add some tips on other software alternatives to use if someone doesn't have Mango Studio, and perhaps a brush collection and the size of the brush to use.
The .GIF animation section was definitely the most original and impactful section of this tutorial—great job on narrating each frame! It was very helpful, and definitely seems so to other readers.
You did really well in telling the viewer to use a 50x50 canvas and which software to use.
As a conclusion—you did great in creating your first tutorial! There were some brush size confusion, but everything looked great and effortless. Great job!

ahh you're 100% right about talking about other softwares, the problem is, all i did with pixels on other softwares is experimenting pixel art one year ago on 500-700px canvases on SAI, bc i had no idea that to make small pixels you have to have a small canvas.................whatever im dumb
then i happened to have mangastudio for other reasons and it supported transparency so ...
So i have no experience about that, but now that i think about it i may look at other tutorials and put those informations in mine to help everyone!
also the brush size eeek i forgot it, i thought it wasn't so important bc no ones uses mangastudio for pixels ah and the size is obviously the smallest one
and i'm really happy you liked that section, i thought it was almost useless (but when i started i was sure that to be nice the animation order should have the closed eyes at the end...so haha then other people told me to change the order and at first i thought it made no sense.........)

Because of this tutorial I went to their website and bought Manga Studio (after using the trial, and I really liked it), but how did you get the serial number to work? Because mine sure doesn't work and displays as incorrect? But I don't know anything XD

Is it better to start with higher resolution and then shrink it? (Like 500x500)

Directly from 50x50! You'd lose lots of details starting from bigger sizes and then shrinking them

Hey, how can you remove the background of your icon?

if you have an icon with non-transparent bg and use a program that supports transparency you can just erase it.
maybe there are sites online that allow you to erase and make it transparent too, but idk you should look up

when you're on a program, when saving you should be able to "save as">.PNG, but idk if you can turn a file to .png without using programs
