Description While enjoying a summer's Saturday in the park, Rhonda takes this moment to ask Stuart a "loaded question," which is like Russian roulette, except that instead of only one bullet, all six chambers contain a bullet waiting to blow your brains out, metaphorically speaking.  Hopefully, Stuart will be able to talk his way out of Rhonda's verbal snare. The way I've got my characters morals set up, that will never happen.  Rhonda is very devoted to Stuart and vice versa.  Thanks for the comment.

Not to worry.  Rhonda won't keep at it for long.  She doesn't want to lose Stuart, so she'll eventually give him the sorrowful eyes and apologize.

Not to worry.  Stu is smart enough to talk his way out of this little jam.  And besides, Rhonda is not the type to keep rubbing it in - not unless she wants to lose her man.  Thank you for your comment.

Great idea and great image

True.  Many women are quite smart, although there are plenty of intelligent men out there, yours truly being one of them.  Women can out-argue men, but we men can usually out-reason them, if we can get a word in edgewise that is.  Thank you for your comment.

Sorry, Stu - no matter what you replied, it would have been wrong in some way.

I see you're using the digital colouring again. You might want to try drawing the dialogue balloons digitally too - they're much easier to manipulate when the text just doesn't want to fit right.

Yes, you're right about the dialogue balloons.  My app does have an ellipse drawing feature that I will use in the future to create speech or thought balloons.  No more drawing balloons by hand.  But other than that, thank you for your comment.

To be honest with you, Mike, she would look sensational in burlap so in the outfit you placed her in she is stunning as always. As for my ex-wife there were other issues involved so it wasn't just loaded questions & I was part of the problem it seemed. Or rather I was not part of the solution since she preferred a younger model faster 'sports' model. lol That was #2 and she's on #4 so it wasn't just me. Thank you for being a gentleman, Mike, and I can't wait to see what's next with Rhonda and Stuart.  Steve

You're quite welcome.  Again, I'm sorry things didn't work out between you and your ex.  Perhaps later on you'll find a woman who is worthy of you.  I know they're out there.  And not to worry; there'll be more amusing Stuart and Rhonda art to come.

I have been there & done that, not answering in exactly the right way (oh? you mean sometimes there simply is no right way to answer? lol) so I know how poor Stuart feels. Well, he could always propose to her & maybe that will distract her long enough. Yeah, Stu, that question was like the one that got me in hot water with my wife (oops! ex-wife lol): "Honey, do these pants make me look fat?" I failed that one miserably even though, for the life of me, I can't think of where I replied wrong. "Not at all, hon, I think you look like a fox in them."  She looked at my smiling face which soon became a sweating smiling face when she said rather coldly: "A FOX?!! You mean a FAT FOX!!! I CAN TELL FROM YOUR TONE!!!!" Somehow that was held over my head for 15 years so I don't know what I did or said but obviously it was BIG-TIME WRONG!! Good luck, Stu!!! lol

Thank you kindly for your comment.  And I'm sorry that you and your wife are no longer together.  Very sad.  As for Stuart's dilemma, he'll manage to give Rhonda an answer that will placate her, trust me.  Rhonda illustrates that peculiar talent that women seem to have . . .the ability to ask loaded and leading questions that leave us men totally flummoxed and unable to come up with a satisfactory answer.  I've been down that rough road, too.  Still, it was also a chance for me to show Rhonda in her summer best, shorts and a tank top.

::laughs:: Just the kind of stuff that makes family life believable. And when you have kids, it's amazing how you become so much like your father. Only during those days I was sort of a house-husband - Nan worked during the day, and I worked during the evening. The great thing is that you never have to worry about who your kid was with.

Thank you kindly.  I'm happy the dialogue got a laugh from you.  It always makes me feel good when my art can get a laugh from my fans.  And now that summer has gotten underway, I just had to have Rhonda wearing shorts, sandals and a tank top. And while Stuart has great respect for his father, when he and Rhonda marry and have children, Stu is determined to raise them his own way. . .with Rhonda's help of course.  Thank you for your comment.

Well, that's the best comedy, is something that the people can relate to. My brother and I always got a chuckle out of the late George Carlin when he did his bit about "Where are the big scissors?" Especially when you can relate to family matters - that's when people can really relate.

kiff57krocker In reply to Gulliver63 [2017-07-06 21:18:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I agree.  Couples comedy is the best, from George Burns and Gracie Allen to Jackie Gleason and Audrey Meadows.  The George Carlin quip I always liked was the one where someone asks a young George what he wanted to be when he grew up.  His answer, "Taller."  Which was quite relevant since Carlin was a shrimp of a guy.

One of the greatest things I've ever heard come from a comedian was said by Robert Williams. He said that your kids "are you, but they're not you." It was brilliant. And so true. In a way you want them to be clones of yourself. But in a way you don't want that at all. My kid is definitely not a clone of me, especially in politics; but I am very proud that she's at least involved in political issues, and is not an "empty-headed animal" as I've said that some youth are. And I definitely not a clone of my father, but I was there every step of the way when he was near the end of his life. Hopefully our squirty kid will remember us in the same way - I think she will.

I hope your daughter will remember you well, too.  And I too was not a clone of my old man.  Nor did I ever want to be like him.

There were things I wanted to copy off of him, and other things not so much. That famous Irish temper was a good thing to leave behind. But I think he'd be proud of the man I've become.

Sometimes I wish my father could've seen how well I did as a CNA and caregiver to the elderly.  I would've given my right arm just to hear him say, "I'm proud of you, Son."  But, sadly, it was not to be.  But I can't waste time being bitter.  I've got a generous VA pension that allows me to live comfortably and I've got DeviantArt which has allowed my to showcase my art and to meet fine young folks like you.
