First thing I'd like to apologise for not responding as quickly as i'd like too, i've not been well for a whilst and I had a bad bout this week. But anyway less of that and more of this! The Akula Class is one of my all time favourite designs, a true work horse it's sent anywhere where a Connie may be considered too much. Likely to be everything that doesn't involve exploring.The planet was scratch made including textures and light maps in 3ds max. I may release it there is demand for it, though the textures could just be used for your 3d program of choice.

Awesome work! I thought this was the Apollo Class... the USS Charon and Ajax etc. I thought the Akula was the one that looked like hornet with a phaser array looping down underneath her hull... or are they the same?? (Confused)

That's how it was in Legacy, however I don't view Legacy as cannon.

Nice work. It is a nice design and I certainly like the lighting and the planet! Maybe someone should suggest this ship class to JJ Abrams. I'm sure he's not done yet.

Definitely, giving it a chance to shine in a fleet action would be awesome. It wouldn't be too hard to change either just the nacelles and some cosmetic work and she'll be good to go. Glad you like it!

Thanks, I had this pic on my laptop in CS4 all day yesterday. Just doing little things to it each time I looked at it. Then I pretty much finalised it this afternoon.

What I really hate is when you get to the point of "over-tweaking" a picture because you've got a little too close to it. Grrrrr! Done that enough times to know now when to step back and stop hehe.

Yeah, i'ved done that with a few too. Once you do step back you realise your not adding anything to it then thats when to call it done.
