Description
The attack on the Citadel was a watershed moment in Council History, for the wrong reasons. The destruction of the Geth and Sovereign made the Council complacent towards the Reaper threat. This is my favourite MEI have done. I watched the Battle at the Citadel to get how the light worked and see how the ships were formed and placed. Plenty of lens flare and bright lighting coupled with plenty of explosions and weapons fire. The background was also trickier than anticipated due to the serpent nebula having intricate detail on the cut scenes.

The Ascension always gets me confused with its sized. I mean its suppose to be 4 times the size of human's largest ship. Assuming this is the Everest Class and not the Kilimanjaro Class then it will be 4 times 888 metres which will be about 3552 metres or 3.6 kilometres rounded off. The Reapers Capital ships were suppose to be 2 kilometres. This thing was suppose to be larger than that. What the hell?

The thing to remember is that the Destiny Ascension originally wasn't actually a starship at all but was originally one of the prototype mass relay designs when the first game was in development. While the giant tuning fork look was ultimately chosen for the relays the design team liked the look so much that they repurposed the design into the Citadel Councils flagship.

size in this case may refer to weight and/or volume; the Ascension is almost three times as high and twice as wide as it is long. assuming it has the obligatory kilometer long main gun, that would put it at almost three kilometers tall and two wide; making it bigger than Sovereign in terms of mass. if you recall, the Normandy crew had seen Sovereign first and were still awestruck by the size of the Ascension.

always Wondered why this ship was thought of as a trump card,I mean, yeahs its big but that's just a bigger target, it doesn't even seem to have anything other than some kind of missile in game as weaponry, and what the hell is the purpose of that giant hole in the middle? that's what gives it most of its size. not trying to downplay your work or anything, just voicing some questions that have been bugging me.

I see where your comming from, it's not the best design for the mass effect universe. However it is a dreadnought and the largest ship in Ciatdel space, it's more of a show off piece and power projection than anything else. Much like Battlecruisers of WW1, it's a proof of concept. There not very good in terms of there size, armour and forepower ratio but it proves that you can build it for the sake of building it.
The hole is also it's main engine drive which can accelerate the ship out of danger pretty fast or manouve it to a better foreing position. Again much like a battlecruiser it's fast but's turning circle is awful.
Hpe that helps.

Pretty much, hopefully a shell doesn't penetrate her magazine though!

Well, Dreadnoughts like the Ascension are meant to be used at kilometers distance from their slow moving, or stationary, targets.
The Geth ships are fast, and attack at "knife fight" range, judging by the look in the ME1 cut scenes. The Ascension couldn't target any of the ships with it's main Mass Accelerator against all the ships. (Huge design flaws, right? xD)It's like being unprepared and swarmed by hornets, we can only swat at them at that point and run. Pretty much what the Ascension did.

Well that was the intention, to capture the Battle at it's height.

Definitely in the scale of "epic". Nicely done and good job creating that based on a dynamic cutscene!

Best thing I find when watching a vid and doing a pic at the same time is too keep the video looping. You see something different each time and you can then add that into the pic.
Thanks too, 'Epic' ain't no small word.
