Description
There's not a lot of artworks that depict the ancient wars only mentioned in At the Mountains of Madness, so I thought of making one myself. The Elder Things fought against Cthulhu and the Mi-go, but they lost control of their shapeshifting slaves "Shoggoth" which grew smarter and rebelled, forcing them to abandon their city and migrate into the underground ocean and hibernate safely away from the Shoggoth.The doomed humans that explored the city eons later found out that decapitation was the method preferred by the Shoggoth to end their masters, so here's an example.
I have taken some liberties with the look of the Elder Thing, it's not that colorful (it's described as a dark grey body) and the blood while green is dark green, not luminescent like that. I did so just to make it contrast to the Shoggoth a bit more.
Maybe I'll draw some art of the ancient Arctic city of the Elder Things during its heyday some other time and I'll draw more book-accurate Elder Things there.

I like on how you portrayed the battle between two Lovecraftian beings. It's nothimg shory of absolute maddness, and entangled mess of Cosmic flesh and gore.
