Orbiting the aged F type star Gayarav in the Carina Arm, just trailing of the Esseles Hierarchy, Falda is a hot, arid world and homeworld of the ropatran. Its eccentric orbit close to the inner edge of the current habitable zone, it takes 408 days to complete (or about 244 local days), and is in turn orbited by a small, lone moon. Despite its small size and mass, it's age is not that advance, especially for a planet in an F type star, and it still maintains an active geology. However, its thin atmosphere, while rich in oxygen, is also rich in greenhouse gasses and thus has a very hot climate.
Its five continents, separated by several shallow seas and one major ocean, are dominated by rocky deserts, mountain ranges and mesas, with a distinct lack of plant life for most of it. The largest concentration of plant life are sporadic, rare oasis' scattered across their surface. Large, isolated islands of green, these oasis' are where the easy going ropatrans made their home in haphazardly built cities surrounding the dense vegetation of the oasis forests. Though isolated geographically, the oasis-cities have maintained fairy close contact thanks to the ropatrans curiosity and drive for exploration.
After being discovered by the garians many centuries ago, the ropatran homeworld remains fairy primitive and underdeveloped with no centralized government (some might say no discernible government at all), although access to advance technology is fairy easy as Falda is considered a protectorate of sorts of both the Garian Coalition and the Palotan Republic, who maintain a small base on the moon, Cormorap, in case the nearby Hierarchy attempts to invade.
The cities for their part, while not as advance or grand as other civilization's, see a fair bit of traffic from off world, especially from the Xa'leasen, who maintain a small but stable trading partnership with them and the Da Sigaren a bit further rimwards.
