Description
Decided on uploading the base colours of chibi Cornwall and another character who is new to the internet, chibi Devon. (yes, her name derives from a Celtic tribe!) I am still very undecided if I support the idea of Celtic tribes becoming kingdoms and later evolving into their current forms. Cornwall is a bit confusing as at least three different Cornovii tribes were recorded in Great Britain and in different places as well⦠and then it gets more confusing with the fact that the Cornovii in Cornwall were considered part of the larger tribe Dumnonii (or the native name for them, the Dumnones). From the sounds of it, Dumnones represented a couple of Celtic tribes.
Right now the idea I have is that these two shared a common ancestor, Dumnones. Dumnones gave their name to Devon while Cornwall got his name from the tribe Cornovii. Devon might have represented the kingdom Dumnonia, which Cornwall was part of for a while before splitting off and becoming Cornovia. And in modern times both are English counties, except that Cornwall is also considered a Celtic nation while Devon isnβt. I have yet to find out when the Celtic culture died out for her. I think these two get along but among the Celtic nations, Devon is considered as an estranged sibling as she no longer has any memories of being a Celt.
(and yeah, notice that they both have heterochromia. ) (and this is an ancient picture, sorry)

Hello
I have an OC for Somerset but I've come to realise that I really need a full set, however I've rarely been to either Devon or Cornwall. I easily came up with a character for Somerset, as its the county I was born and raised in, but for now I don't have anywhere to start with Devon or Cornwall. Do you have any tips for starting with them?
