Here she is, one of the trainers I've been working on ideas for since the middle of 2009:

Bio - Gertrude is a crafty old woman who loves the excitement of Pokemon battling. In her youner days, she won
numerous competitions though stayed away from the real
big league stuff. She comes from a wealthy family and
married into an even richer one (though she and her
husband, Johann, decided to get away from the world of
the wealthy and live their lives as traveling trainers).

She often uses unusual tactics in battle that she has
learned from over many decades of experience. She has
no particular preference for any type of Pokemon and
likes to keep her teams mixed up (generally as many types
as possible with a wide range of attacks). Her favorite
Pokemon, Armaldo, is always on whatever mash-up team
she makes.

For the most part, Gertrude is your average old lady with
a somewhat unnerving old lady cackle. She is kind to most
yet is quite scary if you get scolded by/anger her.
Gertrude often helps younger trainers by giving them items
or tips. She enjoys digging for fossils and other treasures
underground.

Her favorite color is Kingler red, her favorite food is eggplant anything, and she does not like or approve of trainers who treat their PKMN horribly ("Beware the wrath of an old woman.")

Other Notes:
- Like any other elderly person, Gertrude is still prone to the effects of old age and sometimes has difficult climbing stairs, wlaking, etc. Thus the cane. Her PKMN will sometimes come out of their pokeballs on their own and help if they can.
- Gertrude is married to Johan von Schvanstein, a PKMN coordinator. From watching Johan's tournaments she has taken a few tricks and movements and applied them to her own battle strategies (certain ways to shift weight, adding a bit of flair to an attack, etc).
- Her coat does not have any embellishments on the back. Her shirt is a 3/4 sleeve of the same color. Her shoes have no laces and are slip-ons.
- Her glasses were custom-made to mimic Armaldo eyes. Her had was also custom-made and uses real Armaldo spines that have been lost through battle (no Armaldo were forced to lose their spines in the making).
- Gertrude was once asked to be a model in her way younger days.
