And here... Is the Opal Dragon... Because a few people commented on the fact he was missing from my dragon collection (you know who you are...)Anyway, I did draw a Hopian when I drew the rest, I just got stumped by how to colour the rainbow scales so I put him aside for later.
And yeah, I know I cheated a bit by making the rainbow a gradient, instead of making each different scale rainbow coloured... I was in a lazy mood, okay?

I think it's better that you saved him for last. He was introduced last in the book. I didn't even realize that they skipped over him in the books until I got to the part when he actually did come in. It was like, "Surprise, surprise! There's one last dragon!"
Anyway, it's really pretty.

I didn't think the coloring was lazy at all. This way looks really good! If you want lazy, you should see mine. I did really good on the main body, and all of the parts (not including the darn claws >.<) but I just drew a bunch of loop-da-loops for the scales. xD

Haha, that sounds alright to me. The way I do scales is by hundreds of tiny circles, so that's basically loop-da-loops...

I don't care that you cheated with the gradient, it looks absolutely great.
Just looking at the scales and how you've coloured them, a lot of thought has obviously gone into it, I'm REALLY impressed.
(also this really doesn't teach us not to say such things as 'you're missing a dragon')

Well, one of these days I'm going to do one digitally and when I do, I'll colour the scales the way they're meant to be coloured... But for now I'm glad you like it this way...

Honestly I never really could picture how Hopian was meant to look, my mother has a few opals and I've looked at them but picturing hundreds of them together as scales on a dragon... I couldn't imagine it a way I was happy with
