Description
As the boss holding Mario captive in Mario 64 DS, Goomboss was my favorite out of the 3 midbosses in the game. That, and a couple friends and I have been making fun of goombas recently and they were on my mind. Oh I love de leetle gyoombers. A few images off the internet were used as reference, but Mario Kart: DD and Mario 64 DS helped me with much of the modelling and color. Took about 3 days to finish. All done in 3D Studio MAX 6. That's really awesome! I agree with a previous poster about the clouds look a bit too clear in comparison to the rest of the blurry background.
Almost perfect render in every sense though! Brilliant stuff.

Very impressive! Looks like it could come straight from a game, just better. The only nitpick I have are the clouds which don't fit very well into the blurry background. But other than that it's just great

That's just really impressive. You did a great job with rendering the environment...the 2D background and 3D foreground make for a very nice combination--it's definitely got that nice old-school vibe that JDR mentioned. The lighting looks nice, and that little Goomboss just looks nutty. Your 3D artwork is so cool to look at.

If the grass was a bit brighter, and just generally make the colours a bit brighter, you can defiantely compete with *smashmethod s stuff. Great stuff

Whoa... that's some really awesome rendering there. I love all the objects, the Goomboss, the box, the trees, the flowers... I even love the old school looking flat background with the pyramids. Too cool thumbsup:
