This castle probably needs no introduction, it's Howl's Moving Castle from...Howl's Moving Castle (Studio Ghibli).I had to ditch a load of things because of various mistakes but I won't go into detail.
More of it was going to move but honestly, I reached a point where I just thought 'I really can't be bothered with this anymore'.
I think where this animation is at is 'sufficient'.
Thanks so much to `ClefairyKid for all the lessons and pointers. I've self-taught myself lot of pixel art in the past but she's taught me a lot more and this piece has come a long way since my old pixel work!

Yeah, I can tell what you were getting at with having a few more things you wanted to animate, it kinda seems a bit too static to me, but then if you dont want to animate it it's not work it. Stuff like the legs, and the towers moving, and.... actually, pretty much everything moving really. But I get how it is.
I think is some parts it's a little over-dithered. Especially on the base. And the blue house-ish part doesn't still to fit in with the rest of it that well. Also the animation of the folds at the bottom is kinda weird.
It still looks pretty good though so good job!

Yeah absolutely, I got to a point where I thought, something to this kind of scale, if I moved every single thing I could it would be a bit harsh on the eyes.
As the saying goes, less is more right?
Yeah I have to agree with you that the blue is a bit bright, I didn't realise before but it's difficult to judge your own work sometimes isn't it?
Especially when you've been staring at it for too long!
But really appreciate the feedback, it's good food for thought and I'll do well to remember it.Β

I absolutely LOVE this! Howl's Moving Castle is just about my favorite movie ever because of the art style and imagination, which you've captured perfectly! It sort of gives me images of what a Howl's Moving Castle video game would look like.

I've been watching Howl's Moving Castle once a day for the past week XD!!

Yes, I know XD But I do not own the DVD. I'm borrowing it from a friend who is also a major fan.. So I'm taking every chance I get!
I do as well! Especially Tonari no Totoro, which is the first Ghibli film I've ever watched. Still have it on VHS lol

I'll be honest I don't like Totoro as much as a lot of their other movies because I watched it to death in Chinese when I was a kid, so I prefer other ones.
