A lil series about the smash bros characters evolution through the 4and a half game series thus far in the franchise. starting of course with the original 12, with 4 fighters per page through the 4 games.

This is the first of them with Nintendo's 4 greatest heroes: Mario, Link, Kirby and Pikachu. And how they've evolved through the game. This is just how I view their evoltuions, as well as some info and experience i found through playing the games.

Mario, all about the balance

Mario has been a rather balanced and powerful player throughout the series, as expected. But Mario peaked in brawl, even with his change of getting the FLUDD as a move he was still a power player, as of smash 4 though, it seems a new mushrom kingdom powerhouse has taken mario's place as a big threat of his representation!

Link, the hero of time and his struggles

In the first game, there was only one link, and he had the power and range to be a cool fighter, after melee though, he got overshadowed by his tiny clone, young link, who could do things better than he could, same with brawl and the annoying toon link. Is link doomed to be in the shadow of his clone? well as of 4 Link has made a comeback with his new changes, smash 4 is a game of power now, and now link can show his tiny clone that he is still the original link!

kirby's descent to jealousy

in the first game, kirby's niche was his multiple jumps and his copy ability gave him the most moves out of any fighter. come melee and the teir list shows kirby is tied last place with pichu brawl comes along and he's a lil better, but now pit's in the game too, the character his creator sakruai will soon spoil to death in smash 4, neglecting his original creation kirby. Now kirby's strategy has been boiled down to a cheap spam character while kid iccarus gets a ton of stuff in smash 4... poor neglected kirby.

pikachu, the story of two brothers

this one is more a headcanon thing than anything XD in the beginning, there was the original pikachu, with a powerful shock of a down b. come melee pikachu brings his little brother pichu into the battle, hoping his bro will become strong.
sadly enough, during the introduction of brawl and accident occured. En route to the new smash hq pikachu and pichu hear the sound of a powerful motor, it was Wario on his wario bike on a straight and unstoppable path towards the pokemon, pikachu gets out of the way but pichu is stuck in fear! Pikachu then rushes back into the danger zone moments before wario's bike comes in contact with pichu and gets to his brother. and in a moment Wario felt a thud under his bike, and didn't give a crap at all and continued on, laughing at whatever he hit. The smoke cleared, pichu gets up but cannot find his brother, he looks and looks with tears in the eyes until he sees pikachu lying in the road still.... pikachu is dead. the smash vets give him a proper funeral and now its up to pichu to evolve and take his brother's place. the new pikachu vows to avenge his brother against Wario, who's lucky he's even in smash as a contestant at this point.
all the while after the events of brawl, smash 4's pikachu feels a little different, somehow his thunder isn't as powerful as it once was, something happened to pikachu it seems..

So yea that's the first 4 in a nutshell, next up we'll see the other veteran fighters in a nutshell.
