my unpopular and controversial pokemon opinion: I am in no way hyped for the ultra sun and ultra moon games announced this week.I kinda kept my expectations low in the pokemon direct that happened tuesday, and yea it wasn't that exciting. when ultra sun n moon were shown off, it's pretty obvious that they were taking the black and white 2 route again. Though this time it looks even worse. Never being fond of the idea of fusing pokemon canonically, even back in gen 5, seeing Solgaleo and Lunala fused with Necrozma was really painful designwise, especially on lunala! They basically look like censor bars with arms on these two pokes, so that's what i drew: censored solgaleo and censored lunala! In comparison it makes black and white kyurem look way better in design, and theirs makes sense from their lore as well. As for sun and moon the only way i can make sense of it is if it's an aether experiment gone terribly wrong, because yea the ultra versions just are painful to look at.
until we get more information on these alternate stories, at the current moment i'm not really on the hype train for this game.

Even if it's a fusion, it wouldn't change any of the typings. Solgalio would still be Steel/psychic, and Lunala would still be ghost/psychic(still HATE that horrible typing! >_<.). And yeah, design wise, they do look bad.

See, the problem is that you don't know for sure that they're fusions. Nobody does. This is like punching someone for insulting you when they didn't even say anything. I can understand the assumption, because it's the bodies of those PokΓ©mon with extra parts from Necrozma, but look a little deeper before passing a judgment.
Notice how their bodies are both consistently one color, and almost clear-looking, in a way? It's like they're not physically there, but holograms that look like them or something. Apparitions of light. And what does Necrozma, a living prism, do? It takes on their appearances by splitting apart and bending the light between its segments. If you don't like the fusion dealy, then that probably sounds a lot cooler, doesn't it? It's like a lightsaber, except more of a light...body.
