there's something very aesthetically pleasing to pinheads grid pattern to me.
I was about to make a joke about how it would suck for him to get hit in the head with a hammer, but now I wonder, how deep do the needles go? are they only just barely stuck in there, or do theyall connect in the middle of his head? will anyone ever know? does it really matter for a badass demon-thing?

The Books of Blood series by Clive Barker I enjoy more then the entirety of the film series personally yet I do like their influence, though the first movie is of course STILL my favorite.

I don't like the other movies very much, except for maybe part 2. Books of Blood I haven't read.

I recommend it, but of course take your time. I'm a huge Lore guy and as far as I can tell (with the exception of the first two movies and some comic books) the rest of the movie sequels don't do as good a job as conveying the whole mythos and grand scale of the Cenobites and their God the Leviathan as well as the books do, but that's not necessarily they're fault, getting all that info into a single slasher movie was always going to be frustrating and I'd rather they'd tell a good story then try to cram it all into one movie making it a clusterfuck.
It's just a shame that something like Hellraiser Revelations is neither interesting or a good story to me, but like you like I actually really like the first 2 Movies a lot, I have fond memories of the effects and the gore. Timeless.
You probably already know this, but in the book, Pinheads a female so it's kind of interesting the change they made in the movie.

Interesting, yeah that is my point with the first two movies as well. None of the latter movies follow this weird mythology. And none is so good
I am not o sure about Pinhead though. The design was originally female, yes, but she was not the leader, which role was taken by a male figure (it might have been Engineer? but I don't remember well). So movie Pinhead as "Lead Cenobite" as he was called in the first place is more of a mix of these two book characters rather than a simple sex change.
