Description
A mysterious race of heron-like monsters who possess the power to fish almost anything out of the murky waters of Spacetime. Unlike The All-seeing, however, they are not omniscient, having only a limited perspective; they also lack the incredible power of their stronger cousins, however, they compensate this with their unusual patience, cunning, and skill. They probe the bottomless depths of Time and Space with their infinite appendages that use the butterfly effect, clever manipulations, lures and all other conceivable tactics to manipulate the target and lead it to that specific area within Spacetime that is within the range of the Fisher's long neck. First a Fisher's eyes extend on crab-like stalks and then retract and whiten as if blinded right before they strike. The swiftness of the strike is unbelievable for a creature that normally works so slowly; Even the All-Seeing dare not look at them directly for they can perceive such an intrusion and peck out the eye of an intruder before even its ocular magic can influence the Fisher. Yet most of the time they remain seemingly motionless with only the tips of their tentacled wings finding the way through the darkness of multiverse like blind worms. Their work takes forever but to them it is an exciting hunt for prey, treasures and interesting oddities.
"We do not have all the time, but we have all the patience"
Contrary to common belief, the Fishers do not usually devour their prey; their metabolism is very slow and they only rarely need to eat. They have the nature of collectors and often gather oddities from various realms and ages, not based on any actual value but rather personal taste. Thus priceless golden statues can be found alongside old dried tree branches and such. Some of their catch involve living beings, which more often than food are kept as companions or playthings based on their individual virtues. The Fishers are also known to take assignments from other powerful beings, although the nature and price of such deals are kept secret; It is said, however, that back in the day of Great Dragon Empires, they helped powerful dragons gather rare, lost treasures for their hoards in return for being taught various techniques of dragon magic, expanding their already deadly arsenal. Otherwise, their deals are said to be extremely uneven as these creatures have a hard time perceiving the value of objects they fish out. Besides that, they are known to be honorable hunters and never let go of the prey once they set after it.
"Hee hee hee, gotcha."
Even though their lifespans seem infinite and they refer to other races as mortals, Fishers themselves are not beyond the poisonous touch of decay. From the pools of Spacetime, its deadly currents slowly radiate into their lairs causing them to inevitably age. A way to avoid this would be to never again reach nor look into the Multiverse.
"The price of eternal life is eternal boredom."

Coincidentally, I mention similar creatures in my upcoming story. XD Don't worry, I don't actually describe them much beyond fishing spacetime, and they are only mentioned, not the focus of the story. Still, it's wild that you post this monster just as I made similar ones of my own. XD
Anyway, this is a fantastic story suiting a fantastic design. Everything about this creature implies immensity, prehistory, and the grace of a fishing bird.

Lol. Our settings have so much intentional connections that we can have some unintentional too and I knew you'd like it

Wait, what? This concept is brillaint and extremely weird.
Have you drawn the All-Seeing yet btw?

"price for eternal like is eternal boredom" ... actually, true. It's always interesting to create some space fauna, because the laws of logic are basically thrown out the window for what kind of things can live in literal vacuum of space. It's like a space anglerfish mixed with a pteranodon

Thanks. I'm glad you like the idea and the quote, although this guy does not live in space, it lives above it like a fishing bird above the pool of water.

Living above space? K, now I'm imagining it fishing the Milky Way from above X3

Ah, creatures/deities partaking of both transcendence and immanence! I find those incredibly fascinating.
You really have awesome concepts/backgrounds for your creatures. Gives it all a coherence and makes it convincing.

Love their design and behavior! I really enjoy the idea of a creature beyond space time grabbing people and things mainly because they are bored and want a hobby.
