Description
This scenario/fanfic is a short sequel to Code Geass AU www.deviantart.com/royalpsycho… here Britannia defeats the French early on and holds the British Isles while going on to dominate much of Europe in place of the United Europa from canon. Though Britannia's unchecked expansion leads to the rise of a new power in Russia which comes to rival the Empire and inflict its worst defeat in centuries. Special thanks to for providing part of the flag material used in the map.I was woken in the middle of the night by a horrible sound outside my window, while holding on to my doll tightly, I quickly jumped out of my bed and rushed over to pull back the curtains. There I saw several fires followed by the sight of more explosions ripping through the city. Unable to grasp the gravity of the situation at the time, all I could do was watch until my Nanny Edith raced in and grabbed me by the hand, pulling me away from the window. She then took me out into the hall and started leading me down the hall of my mother’s quarters of the palace. This was when I started to get scared, the loud sound of bombs falling and gunfire outside frightened me greatly. Edith had never let go of my hand as she took me down into the kitchen cellar, there I started to cry and she tried to comfort me as best she could. I wanted to be with the rest of my family, my mother, elder sister, and my half siblings who l all loved so dearly. So time passed, I had finally started to calm down when the door to the cellar opened and someone started coming down the steps. I was overjoyed when I saw that it was Cornelia, my oldest sister was like a second mother to me. She was my best friend and I thought her and mother were the two most beautiful women in the whole world. Breaking free from Edith’s grasp I ran as fast as I could over to her, she knelt down to me height and we embraced. I asked her where our mother was but all she was worried about was me, as she held me, Cornelia looked over to Edith and told her to leave the Palace of Pendragon and take refuge in one of the civilian bunkers, she assured Edith that the Palace staff records had been purged and that she would be safe. In spite of Edith's protest, she finally relented and said her goodbyes to us before making her way back up the stairs.
After that Cornelia turned back to me and tried to explain what was going on as best she could. That the Dominion in Russia had invaded Britannia and were already inside the city, she warned me that they were aided by traitors from within the realm and that I could only trust those closest to us. I nodded though still not quite comprehending what truly was going on. All I knew was that I needed to stay with my big sister and that she would keep me safe. Cornelia then took me back up the stairs where two Imperial Guardsmen were waiting for us, she explained that we needed to go far away, that Britannia itself was lost but we would continue the fight from the New World and in time take back our home. I protested as I tried to keep up with her, I hated the idea of leaving people like Edith and all our loyal citizens behind but Cornelia assured me that we would come back and free them. When we reached the Palace gardens I saw several military aircrafts either in the process of taking off or ready to once their passengers were aboard. There I also saw Lady Marianne and her children waiting to board one of the aircraft, my sweet half sister Nunnally looked more afraid than myself as she held so tightly onto the arm of her older brother Lelouch. When Nunnally noticed me she mouthed something to Lelouch, though I was too far away to hear it, Lelouch then turned back and looked at me with a sad but reassuring smile. Cornelia then stopped before kneeling back down in front of me. She said that she was going back to buy us as much time as possible, that I was to go with Lady Marianne and that she would see me again in America. That was when I started to break down and throw a tantrum. I didn’t want her going anywhere without me and I refused to let go of her.
The next thing I remember was being cut off by a terrible sound as Cornelia and I were then thrown back by the force of a powerful shockwave. The aircraft nearest to us was hit and exploded, as we regained our senses, I looked up and saw Dominion Knightmares on the Palace walls as well as hundreds of enemy soldiers who all started to fire down on us in the gardens. Cornelia grabbed me and rushed us to cover, the Imperial Guard returned fire in turn while the rest of my family rushed to whatever cover they could find or board the remaining aircrafts which were quickly destroyed by the Knightmares. From where we were I could see Lady Marianne on the ground, she had shielded her children from the blast with her own body but now wasn’t moving, Lelouch was forced to pull Nunnally away from her kicking and screaming. As I watched this I overheard Cornelia speaking to General Dalton over her radio; she was ordering him and half the Glaston Knights to reinforce the Palace defense. Taking me by the hand again, Cornelia led me back inside as we made our way to the coordinates she had given Dalton for the rendezvous. As we passed the great hall we started taking gunfire again, Cornelia had drawn her sidearm to give us cover as we pressed forward, though as we neared our destination I noticed she was starting to fall behind.
I turned around in horror to find that she had been shot in the exchange and was forced to support himself by pressing up against the wall. I ran back to my sister as she could go no further, begging her to push through, that we would be safe soon but she only stroked my hair and looked at me with tears in her eyes. She made me promise that I would live on and stay safe, I could only nod as I was crying myself, the tears in my eyes making it hard to see. Cornelia wiped my face clean before telling me to run, she told me that she would hold back the Dominion soldiers for as long as she could, I nodded before hugging my sister one last time. That was the last time I ever saw my sister, making my way out of the palace alone I ran down the great boulevard of Darwin Street until coming face to face with a unit of Britannian Knightmare which stopped just in front of me. I stood there as Dalton opened the cockpit of his Glasgow and climbed down to me. I fell to my knees as my eyes started to tear up again as the general held me in his arms and asked about my sister, all I could do in response was gaze at Pendragon burning behind me…
— Excerpt from the Memoirs of Euphemia li Britannia
On 10th August 2010, Princess Euphemia li Britannia lost everything, her home, her family, and her country were all taken from her in a single night as the heartland of the great Empire of Britannia succumbed to the relentless assault by the forces of the People’s Socialist Dominion. After roughly a week of fighting, the whole of the British Isles had fallen under Dominion occupation with the survivors of the Britannian Royal Family being relocated to the Court in Exile at Philadelphia. Having escaped the massacre of her family, Princess Euphemia was taken in by the veteran Britannian Army commander, General Andreas Dalton. Unable to escape the isles, the two assumed false identities as father and daughter with the Princess dyeing her hair and taking the pseudonym Eleanor Hastings. Euphemia would spend the next seven years maintaining a low profile as Dalton and his adopted son worked to keep the Princess safe as the dominion security forces were investigating rumors of her rumored escape and actively hunting for the lost Princess. Witnessing the oppression of the Dominion and its puppet government first hand, Euphemia did whatever she could to help the people suffering the worst under the new order. When Dalton managed to get the young princess into a good school, he believed she would be safe there for a time, though in one fateful afternoon, Euphemia would become caught up in events that would turn the tide of history. A Britannian resistance cell had ambushed a Dominion military convoy, sending the main truck off the highway and crashing down into a warehouse below, unable to stop herself from helping those in need, Euphemia rushed inside the building to help anyone injured. She found the drivers dead before making her way to the cargo hold where she came face to face with a small child in restraints. After helping the boy get free, she was shocked to find that he knew her name, not Eleanor, but Euphemia. Before she could question him the building became surrounded by BCR Military Police who held both Euphemia and the child at gunpoint, when the officer leading them received orders that there were to be no witnesses to the truck's cargo. Euphemia feared that this would be the end, her only comfort being that she would soon see her sister again, though just then the boy grabbed Euphemia by the hand and the two found themselves in a different plan of existence, here the boy revealed himself to be her lost uncle, now going by VV, and the bearer of a great power known as Geass, of which he offered to bestow upon his niece in exchange that should would make a contract with him. Returning from the realm of C’s world, Euphemia’s left eye glowed as she used her new power on the soldiers about to carry out her execution. In an instant they all began to lower their weapons before turning them on each other, in less than a minute the soldiers under her influence executed their comrades before taking their own lives in turn, leaving only the Princess and VV, the contract between them being a simple one, Vengeance.
Several months after the Incident in Hammersmith, the Dominion’s puppet regime in the British Isles was all but on the brink of collapse. Having revealed herself to the public, Euphemia assumed leadership of all Loyalist Britannian forces and declared herself Lady of the Realm, until the Dominion was driven out. While at first she commanded only a small band of rebels inside London after making contact with the former heiress Mildred Ashford, she was able to expand her operation across the isles after the Knights of the Realm swore fealty to her, their commander Sir Gilbert Guilford had been one of Princess Cornelia’s closest friends and subordinates. With veteran officers and more of the citizenry flocking to her banner every day, the Citizen-Chancellor Bradow von Breisgau was under enormous pressure by Moscow to Eliminate the threat posed by Euphemia’s rebellion before it grew out of control. In doing so, Bradow but his daughter Leila in charge of a Special Unit tasked with the assassination of Princess Euphemia in a full scale assault on the Knights headquarters of Camelot in Wales. Unbeknownst to the BCR forces however was that plans for th4 operation had been leaked by Albion to the Knights who in turn ambushed the Task Force in a battle which saw the capture of Major Leila herself. To both the shock of the Chancellor and her own subordinates, Euphemia had Leila released shortly thereafter. While at first Bradow was overjoyed to have his daughter home safe, he became unnerved by the questions she was now asking him. Bradow had done his best to shelter Leila from the realities of the Dominion occupation though when returning from her brief captivity, it was evident that The Princess had shown her the truth. Losing faith in Bradow’s ability to control the situation in Britannia, the Premier-Citizen’s own right hand and mastermind behind Dominion’s initial offensive, the young Alexei Dolgorukov, arrived with his personal Guards Army to crush the Knights once and for all. Amongst his entourage being a mysterious green haired girl. For almost a month Alexei’s forces swept the countryside though were unable to find significant numbers of rebel forces, this coincided with a mass reduction in attacks on Dominion military assets leading Alexei to believe he had simply scared the Britannian resistance into hiding with only his presence on the island, however on 10th August 2017, the seventh anniversary of the invasion, The Liberation Day festivities in London were cut short as Bradow and Alexei were informed of attacks by the rebels being staged all across the island, the final offensive of the Britannian Restoration had begun.
By that point Alexei had spread his army thin in counter insurgency operations, allowing the Knights to surround individual groups and defeat in detail. Orders to withdraw south to reorganize only threw the BCR and Dominion forces into panic retreat or outright surrender, by October most of the country was now in Loyalist hands with the Collectivist only being able to hold key industrial sectors and naval ports. The war in the isle had become a conflict of attrition for both sides as a Britannian Relief force from the Americas was on its way to assist the Knights in the retaking of the homeland. Likewise Alexei had ordered an entire new army be raised in Russia and brought over to reinforce the Dominion forces in subjugating the British Isles. When the Knights began moving on London itself, Alexei was assured that the city was a fortress and that it would hold for months before it fell, more than enough time for the reinforcements to arrive. Though that was before he was informed that the Chancellor’s daughter had staged a Loyalist coup within the ranks of the BCR security forces and placed her own father under arrest. Watching his work become undone from Westminster, Alexei cursed Britannians as a race of Reactionaries and Traitors before ordering his army to fight to the last man as he and his mysterious mistress fled the isles back to the mainland. On 6th November 2017, Euphemia entered London as if it were her triumph. Leila had assumed leadership of the rump BCR under a military provisional government which voted to dissolve the Collectivist regime and recognize Emperor Odysseus eu Britannia as their rightful Emperor. By the time that the Britannian relief force arrived they found the Home Isle once more as a dominion of the Empire with Princess Euphemia acting as Viceroy. Greeting the Britannian fleet in person at Southampton, Euphemia sought an audience with the expedition’s commander. The Princess’s eyes filled with tears as the commander and a young Knightmare pilot stepped forward to salute her, for the first time in seven years, Euphemia was reunited with her siblings Prince Lelouch and Princess Nunnally vi Britannia.
The Dominion’s defeat in Britannia has sent shockwaves across the planet, the Bear is humbled, the Lion still has claws, and the Dragon spots opportunity. The war for the fate of the Mankind is far from over.
