Description
In 1925 the Hashemite Kingdom of Hejaz, with the support of the British Empire, defeated the Saudis in a war that would have seen the conquest of Hejaz and the loss of the two Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina. This victory established the Hashemites as a dominant force in the region, with the Kingdom of Jordan and Hejaz formally being unified with the passing of King Ali Bin Hussein in 1935.

However, in 1968, the Hashemite Kingdom underwent a transformation, becoming the Hashim State. Under this new system, the government became more democratic and granted greater freedoms to its people, with the Head of State acting as more of a spiritual figure whose temporal authority is kept in check by a constitution. The Caliph playing a similar role to the Japanese Emperor under the Meiji Constitution.

Throughout the 1970s and 90s, the Hashim State became a leading example of modern Islam, standing against authoritarian and radical regimes in the region, and calling for social and political reform across the Islamic world. With the nation becoming the center for the so-called Islamic Renaissance.

In 2004, the Hashim State offered to take over much of the US occupation in Iraq, leading to the restoration of the Iraqi monarchy under their model, freeing up thousands of American military personnel for efforts in Afghanistan with the Hashim State playing a key role in stabilizing the country and easing the transition from the old regime of Saddam Hussein to a Constitutional state under the Hashim model.

The Hashim State's most recent and arguably greatest diplomatic achievement came in the form of the establishment of the Levantine Union, a dual-state solution for Israel and Palestine. With the rulers of the Hashim State holding the title of Caliph, they are able to influence affairs all across the Islamic world, becoming a leading mediator in resolving conflicts and setting an example for all other Muslim Nations.

As of 2023, the Hashim State remains the center of the Islamic Renaissance, with a diversified economy, a democratic government, and strong diplomatic ties with its neighbors and the West.
