Description
Well, here it is! I decided to make my own review cards: Animation Unknown. This is mostly for obscure/underrated/overlooked movies, TV series, or even episodes, though it can be used for other things as well. If it looks a little bland on the surface, that's only so that you can add a custom background to spruce it up (whether or not it's related to the work in question is up to you). Here's the breakdown:
The large box taking up a quarter of the card is where the screencap from the series/movie/episode would go, with the caption below for the name of the work. Below that is pretty self-explanatory.
Now taking up the rest of the card is the scoring system with color-coded bars on a scale of 1 to 10; again, pretty simple to understand: Plot is for how good the premise is or how well the plot progresses, Characters are for the characterization and development of the main and supporting cast, Enjoyment is simply how much you loved/hated what you saw, Creativity is how many liberties and spins it took or just how interesting/unique the concepts, characters, premise, and so forth are, and Execution is how well everything came together and what they did with what they had. However, at the very bottom is the unique part: the Bonus Stars! The more obscure or underrated/overhated something is, the more Stars it earns; a half star adds 2 points, and full stars add 5 for a max of 25 bonus points + the total score, which is added up in the corner.
Star Points are rewarded for a number of things: critical praise, if you feel the episode is unfairly/generally overlooked (You can automatically award a show up to 2 Bonus Stars for a foreign show; this doesn't apply to anime, however, unless it hasn't been dubbed), fantastic animation, powerful morals, even if it's an episode that especially stands out from an otherwise mediocre/terrible series. Star Points can also be deducted from a work, however, for the opposite reasons listed above and more (thus, instead of filling them in gold, they'd be filled in black or red and filled in from the right instead of the left). Point deduction for negative Star Points apply the same way.
*If a work manages to get up to the Purple Zone (Perfect) it automatically receives a full star; also, Purple is worth 2 points--blame my lack of thinking things through and not making sure I divided all of the bars evenly to make 10.
*Use responsibly and judge fairly.
*Credit me in the description; I don't care if you use my template for free, but don't steal it.
*Calculate the Star Points correctly before adding up the final score.
*Every work must have listed at least 1 Pro and 1 Con; no matter how hard you look, there's nothing that is undoubtedly flawless or irredeemably awful (even if, in order to redeem something, it needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
*Here's an example: sta.sh/0z2aznzvr1f and here's how the template is used: AU Tutorial
(Update: Fixed the bars, so now each one is proportionally sized, with a slight change being that now Light Blue and Blue replace Blue and Gold though they mean the same thing)

I did have a different card for Live Action stuff, but I suppose you can do whatever with it.

I'd love to use this, but I might just end up re-reviewing something I already did :/

I would highly recommend that you use this, as long as I get credit for the base. Feel free to use these for anything you feel is Overlooked, Underrated, or just generally obscure. I'd recommend seeing a few of my other templates to verify how to fill this out correctly.

That's great! Just remember to credit me in the description. Although this card isn't NECESSARILY for anime, I suppose it could technically be used if the work(s) in question was/were obscure/underrated enough or didn't gain much recognition either in America or Japan. I say go for it! I'm usually looking for new anime to test out, and I do take requests.

Pretty sure someone else has something for that. Besides, my scoring system and formatting are totally different.

Good idea. The template looks great in my opinion, nicely organized and I like the aesthetics of it.
I don't really review stuff (tho I love reading other people's cartoons reviews) so I doubt I'll use it, but there are many obscure (in the rest of the world) animations from my country (Chile) that I'm pretty sure almost nobody knows about other than me over here, so I might use this to review them sometime. (Then again, it might be hard for me because they kinda feel in the "so bad it's good" category, or maybe I'm a bit blinded by nostalgia).

I would love to see what you have from other places; with sites like Dubbed-Scene, Just Anime Dubbed, or kisscartoon.me, it's so much easier to watch French-Candian, European, and even Australian cartoons in high quality for free. While I am starting to be a bit more adventurous in checking out stuff I've never heard of or from other countries that I come across mostly by accident, I do hope to run into a lot of cartoons and animated films/specials from all over the world (just like the Hardcore Kid or )

Yeah, absolutely, I'm pretty sure there are many great stuff from other countries that don't get the recognition they deserve just because of it. Probably mostly from the places you named, I really have no clue about most stuff from these countries (except Pixel Pinkie from Australia, which is just........ well, not good at all). So I think this template is pretty good to make people get into newer stuff. I'll look forward to see what you've got. I'm rather adventurous about it too, but I was actually not a big fan of animation until recently (and even now, my tastes arent what some people would consider, great) so I still have a lot of more "known" stuff to discover.
Then there's the problem with some stuff from countries that aren't either from europe, north america or australia, when stuff gets too obscure (my country is an example), it gets hard to find them on the internet even in the original language, so subtitles are rather impossible lol (and dubs don't exist), and production values aren't high despite the good intentions of the writters, so many of the stuff from here probably would have to be seen from a special perspective, I guess like pay more focus to the story and characters (there's a particular chilean show I liked that I thought about when I saw this, that has pretty static animation and probably might be considered just meh compared to north american shows, but portrayed the realities of my country pretty well, so kinda gets a soft spot for me, I could only find one episode online tho, I might review it someday). I realized I'm just talking about Chile tho, which sadly isn't really into animation (those shows are like from the 2000s), the obscure stuff might be a lot better in other countries and we might not know it.

Those are good things to keep in mind; also, if you want a little better exposure to Australian-made cartoons, you might wanna check out She-Zow! (at least Wikipedia SAYS it was made in Australia) Originally, it was one of the few good pilots on Disney Channel's ill-advised and short lived Shorty McShorts' Shorts (which you may know as the only animation showcase series--Liquid Television, What a Cartoon, Oh Yeah! Cartoons, etc.--to NOT have a single series make it past the pilot, considering even Random Cartoons somehow gave Fanboy and Chum-Chum a greenlight instead of blacklisting the creators to oblivion and breaking his legs with a baseball bat but that's mostly due to the fact that the inmates run the asylum at Nick), but was eventually made into a full series that was briefly imported to the Hub Network. Seriously, try and track down the original pilot, and then watch the first episode of the She-Zow! series (which actually recycles quite a good chunk of the script for the Shorty pilot) and the difference is almost night and day; literally everything about the series from its pilot is improved across the board: from the character designs, the fluid Flash animation (okay, it's no Motorcity or Friendship is Magic, but it's definitely no Pixel Pinkie or Johnny Test), even some of the interesting powers and villains are kinda creative and cool. Actually, that might be my first official use of this card.

The name sounds familiar, I'm gonna watch it one of these days, heck, I might do it today after something I'm watching atm.
Thanks for the suggestion, the show looks pretty cool!
