So it turns out that being a glowstick in a cave full of hungry ferals sucks. A certain Deino learns that the hard way. Luckily, the battered child is found by our resident awesome Deddie (that's Dad+ Eddie, folks), Eddie! Eddie is a permanently mega-d Ampharos who lives in the charming city of Aldicor. He spends his nights as a watchman, ensuring that ferals much scarier than our little Deino here don't cause trouble. But uh. What do you do with a feral kiddo who's been kicked out of his cave? Well, if you're Eddy: You adopt him, duh!

Eddy takes the Deino home to his wife, Plet. Now, Plet isn't pleased to see a snarling, poisonous dinosaur with her hubby. But uh. Apparently, Eddy has a reputation for getting into mischief. Either that, or Plet likes kids: because she agrees to take care of the Deino. The two quarantine the pupper in their basement because they already have a kid- a Goomy named Potassium. Unfortunately, Potassium is too young to understand quarantine rules, and so he jiggles off into the basement the next morning. He meets the Deino, and the Deino meets him. A few cookies and the pure wholesomeness that is Bana, and the Deino is hooked.

An unspecified amount of time later: Plet and Eddy are awoken by the Deino's barks. Plet goes to check on him, only to find her son throwing cookies at him through a baby gate. Plet scoops up Potassium, terrified. But, to her surprise...Potassium taught the Deino how to say his name. Kind of. Potassium was too hard, but Banana? That was doable. So now we have a Deino barking for Bananas.

Plet sets Potassium down, but scolds him for running into what could have been a dangerous situation. She agrees to let Bana and the Deino interact more, but only if Potassium promises to stay behind the bars where it's safe. Potassium agrees, and thus our little family is together.
