-THE ORIGINAL-
This was a half-and-half change compared to the original. "Ericho" as he was originally called, was similar in terms of his personality; a newbie, slightly awkward but well-meaning. However, his role was very different. He took a backseat to the other recurring characters, but at a big turning point, was the first person to be seriously hurt by The Forbidden Power. From there, the other main characters took his accident as motivation for trying to stop the hackers.
-THE NEW-
In this version, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to go in a very different direction with the newly-christened "Archy". Like with many of the others, I exaggerated his qualities to something more defined. His awkwardness and quirkiness made him a goofy but lovable fanboy who tags along and just wants to help. As for his actual role in the story, in Episode 07 specifically, Archy represented something for the story arc that Kirbopher goes through during the "pre-tournament" time. Archy represents all that the character has left, after too many poor choices in a row, what Kirb was left with was Archy, who was a pure, unbridled supporter of his. I don't know if many people picked up on this, but I actually tried to leave it kind of ambiguous as to if Kirb had some dealings with Archy in the past or if that opening scene was the first time he had ever spoken to him personally. Either way, Archy ended up being really funny in the final draft of Episode 07's script and his interactions with Kirb helped really lighten the mood in between all of the dire, serious moments. I felt those scenes also made his character sympathetic enough to where you can accept their partnership by the end of the story, even though Kirb's put into a "dark place", he's not completely alone.

I'm not entirely sure why you went with light arrows for his third arrow type, aside from the fact that he was originally designed to look like Link. I personally think bomb arrows would fit in more with the game's fighting aspect, and it would still be a Zelda reference. fire and ice arrows are something that I think are pretty reasonable, though.

I really wanted Archy to turn out BA and use his abilities really well, but he ended up losing before the match really even started. XD
Maybe in a future appearance?

Poison Arrow - An arrow that can poison its target.
May hill remind you, light arrows in the Zelda lore does not blind enemies, it sends the dark enemies in another dimension.

Actually, Light Arrows literally ERADICATE all forms of evil, similar to the Master Sword. No dimension-hopping going on there.
Also, just because Archy is an expy of Link, doesn't mean that his attacks have to be EXACTLY the same as Zelda games handle them.

Archy. But Micah Solusod does have quite the range, so it was pretty hard to tell the first time I heard him.

Either way, pretty good...
Kirb & Ericho best make a good impression at the Gemini Tourney...

So, he uses MAGICAL archery...
Apparently both Fighters and Spellcasters can use magic. So, are Spellcasters better at using it or can use it easier or...what? Usually the class with spell in their name is supposed to be the most proficient with the magic attacks, but we've seen Fighters here whose entire attack listing is magic attacks, like Archy, Neomutant and Alpha. And then there's Asterob, whose entire style is about relying on a shield, but he didn't seem like he was there for actual fighting anyway. So far the only fighters that seem fitting in the name are Saturndiva and Zetto because their attacks are almost exclusively physical.
Maybe some sub-classes are needed to clear things up? Couldn't hurt.

Here's the way I've figured it:
Swordsman are humanoids who specialize in a single melee weapon
Fighters are humanoids who specialize in physical attacks, tougher than spellcasters
Spellcasters specialize in purely energy-based attacks (Flamegirl, Whyti, etc)
Morphological are amorphous specialists with strange powers
Animalistics are non-humanoids who specialize in natural attacks
Mechanicals are non-humanoids with unique weapons built into body

Sounds about right. Mechanicals and Morphologicals are easy enough to tell apart. Fighters, Swordsman, and Spellcasters are more similar but their attack styles are pretty distinct.
But then that doesn't address all the fighters that are clearly acting like Spellcasters, including the main protagonist. Plus, Zetto, a fighter, has a mechanical arm that he uses to give him powers like that class.
And doesn't that make Animalistics just Fighters with an animal theme? We've also seen Animalistics with powers to lay bombs (Rockoon), change shape (Ravenfreak), and be completely robotic (Tigerlily), but...is that because those particular characters are hackers or because those are regular powers for their class?
I REALLY don't mean to over-think this but...even just a little more clarification would be appreciated.

Well, Rockoon's bomb is supposedly a rock with explosives, so still natural. Plus his other abilities are quite natural. Tigerlilly looking robotic does not really matter, though we would need to see more of her. She could be mechanical for all we know. I think Zetto's robot arm is an acquired feature, like an item or something.
The fighter/spellcaster divergence I think comes from the fact that while Alpha has a lot of ranged attacks, his most powerful attacks (Vulcan Fist) are melee. Flamegirl's abilities are almost all ranged or defensive, and are purely energy-based.

How is a raccoon making bombs natural? And Tigerlily is confirmed as Animalistic.

And yeah, you could be right about Zetto. Guess we'll have to see him more. Or have more items present in the story than just the Drain Edge.
As for the fighter/spellcaster thing, only the Vulcan Fist is a melee attack, the rest are ranged, except for his shield. Plus that doesn't explain why Archy and Neomutant rely only on energy attacks when they're both fighters. And I don't remember Flamegirl using any defensive attacks...

Ah, forgot about that FB post.
Flamegirl used a flame shield thing in the first episode, to block that martial artist. Also, while Neomutant has some ambiguous abilities, Archy's abilities are basically imbuing his physical arrows with abilities. My views might be tempered by my D&D background: Animalistic are to Fighters as Barbarians are to Fighters. More pidgeonholed, but with tellingly different abilities.

Yeah, but arrows aren't melee weapons, so he'd more fit into a Weaponry class. But definitely not Fighter.
And I'm not familiar with DnD, so could you explain the link to these and those classes?
Anyway, this just points out that there's at least a bit of inconsistency around TOME's classes.

I'm just saying that's how I am seeing the difference. A fighter is extremely customizable in Pathfinder, which I play. They can specialize in anything from sword'n'board to greatsword to bows while wearing any armor; however, they have no innate magic abilities. Barbarians also are able to use these same weapons, but are limited in alignment and armor choice. Instead of the vast training via feats, they get Rage, along with special naturalistic powers they can use during rage. Seeing a ranged fighter is nothing new to me, even if Archy's arrows have magic properties.
There might also be some stuff differentiating them behind-the-scenes; Sure, Neomutant and Alpha could superficially LOOK like spellcasters, an actual spellcaster with similar powers would be much more powerful, but would be less able to take a hit.

I gotta be honest, I love the retooling of the chars so far, they've all been great...
...EXCEPT ericho, and for one single reason: I loved his story.
no, really, thats it. so far at least, archy just doesnt compare to the stuff E's had to deal with, so I'm waiting patiently to see if it'll pan out in the end.

Probably because Ericho was there to be the "Kick the Puppy" moment. That alone does not make a character. Hopefully Archy will have more dimension to him than that.

^^ I like his new look it gives him his own persona something other then a young Link recolor and his hat with a arrow in it is just cute X3 he doesn't have a feather in that cap it's a arrow in case his quiver is empty he can use that as a last weapon on hand 83

I was not expecting to see the "new" Ericho so early in TOME, but he was one of my favorite characters. It's good you made him not a palette swap of Young Link - his overall persona is still consistent but with a much more unique look.
It's also interesting that he's got a new dynamic with Kirbopher.

I was actually curious myself if Kirb had met him before, especially after his reaction of "...Oh..." after seeing who it was. I guess it's implied that it's up to the audience. Personally, I'd say Archy has tried constantly to talk to him, and each time only managed to get a sentence or two in before Kirb would walk off shrugging him away as if he's just some kid.
I personally hope he and Archy make it past Round 1 of the Gemini Tournament. It'd be cool to see Kirb lighten up to him by fighting by his side, he seems to like taking role as the mentor (as seen by his friendship with Alpha, teaching him aspects of the game).
