Description
This is it. We've reached the endgame Smashers. The final video presentation for Smash 4 is happening soon and is the last chance for some last minute stragglers to join the battle. These are the 10 I am rooting for. If even one of my hopefuls gets in, I will be beyond ecstatic.

But first...
5 Honorable Mentions
Ice Climbers: Though not my mains by any means, I always had fun playing the Ice Climbers in the previous installments. Needless to say, I miss them and their unique mechanic. They were originally in the top 10 actually, over Sami, but if they don't get in, I can still go play them in Melee and Brawl 'cause, like I said, I had a blast playing them in those games.
Geno: Just when the his chances at the roster were dwindling, a ray of hope shined down from above. Ever since Melee, Geno has been one of the most requested characters for Smash ever. This is definitely the best chance for Geno to get in Smash since Square Enix had just recently entered the foray with Cloud. If they do grace us with a second representive for Squeenix, I sure hope it's this one-hit-wonder.
Banjo & Kazooie: If Cloud is the unintentional "Playstation mascot", then Banjo & Kazooie would be Microsoft's equivalent. Although I'm not a huge advocate of these two getting in, like Geno, there is no better time to get in than now, especially since they have their captor's blessing. As long as they don't use the recent designs (which I highly doubt due to the Smash team's track record of handling third-parties with the utmost care and using their most iconic look), I think they'll be a smash hit.
King K. Rool / Dixie Kong: It is a shame that the Donkey Kong country universe only has two representatives, and hopefully they can change that. For me it's between Dixie and K. Rool for this spot, leaning more toward the tyrannical Kremling leader. While I feel they would cut some corners with Dixie, King K. Rool indisputably has some of the greatest moveset potential (in the right hands, of course) and the lack of villainous newcomers is staggering. In my opinion, he has the greatest chance of garnering enough votes to win the ballot. I would be glad if either made it, though I wouldn't be bouncing off the walls, so to speak.
Elma: Though Xenoblade Chronicles X isn't... that great, I think it would be cool if we got an XCX rep anyway. Yep. It'd be cool. ...that's all I have to say.
Bomberman: I changed my mind. I'd rather have Bomberman. Explosions, wheeeee-!

The Top 10 (from bottom right to top left)
Sami: Ah, Advance Wars. If this series ever got a playable character, it wouldn't be Sami, it would be Andy- but I'm going to be petty and pick her anyway. Project M (Rest in Peace) seemed to have the character planned for their mod, and got my hopes up for an AW character in Smash to unreasonable heights. She's definitely not in the running to make the roster, but it would certainly make my jaw drop three stories.
Shantae: Here's a name that you've probably heard get tossed around a lot. While she is a big name in the indie game community, I do find it kind of hard for her to fit in before a certain other character *coughshovelknightcough*. That being said, it would be a pleasant surprise to see her make the final roster. Her varied attacks and abilities are just begging to be implemented in a brawler such as Smash 4.
Snake / Big Boss: At this point it doesn't matter which one gets in. Solid Snake, Big Boss, Venom Snake- I DON'T CARE ANYMORE. JUST GIVE ME SOMETHING. Snake was absolutely one of my favorite characters in Brawl (definitely in the Top 5). And even if I knew he wasn't going to make the initial roster, I still felt a sharp pain in my gut when I didn't see him on the character select screen. I know Konami's being a bunch of whiny shits right now but if Snake (etc, etc) gets into Smash, I think I can forgive them... slightly.
Amaterasu: Another pipe dream of mine if I ever had one. Capcom already has their two main 'mascots' and there are so many other choices for them to pick if they were allowed to let another in (Phoenix Wright, for example). I just really would love to see the sun goddess in Smash, simple as that. This is one case where I just can't mask the fanboy-ism.
Waddle Dee: The Kirby franchise has their staples in place- King Dedede, Meta Knight and of course, Kirby. There really is no need for Waddle Dee... But doggone it, he's one of my favorite characters despite being so minor, and I want to play him in Smash. Think about it- do we have a character that represents minions? You know, like the Goomba, the Octorok, the Metroid, etc. Waddle Dee's more fleshed out abilities can meld well with the Smash universe, and he can show everyone what grunts are really made of.
Isaac: So, I've been playing a bit of Golden Sun recently and thinking to myself two things... 1) "Why haven't I played this game sooner?" and 2) "WHY ISN'T ISAAC PLAYABLE IN SMASH." His attacks would be phenomenal in Smash Bros- Ragnarok, Quake, Judgment... *sigh* It would be amazing. I know Golden Sun is a bit of cult classic at this point and the last game in the series didn't fair so well, but it would still be a shame not to see him at all, especially after axing him from Assist Trophy status. There's certainly room for more than one spiky blonde-haired JRPG protagonist, right (I mean, we have three blue-haired FE characters, I think that won't be a problem.)?
Chibi-Robo: The Chibi-Robo series is a bit of a niche franchise in the world of Nintendo, so getting into Smash would be a bit of a stretch for our little cleaning robot chum. But I still hold hopes for him, especially since his most recent game, Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, displays his spirit as one who can hold his own in a scuffle. Though, I've always thought he'd be a very fun character even before Zip Lash- can you imagine whacking Ryu in the face with a toothbrush?
Tetra / Linkle: I'm very excited for Hyrule Warriors Legends and makes me glad (and somewhat justified) that I opted out of the first version. Skull Kid, Toon Link, Ganondorf with a Trident... oh, and of course, these two. Let me start with Linkle. She's gotten a lot of attention in a very short amount of time, and her inclusion isn't totally out of the question, since Greninja was planned even before Pokemon X & Y came out (and don't get me started on Roy). I just cannot wait till March to shoot dual crossbows at some poor fools- I need to do it nao. As for Tetra, why does Sheik get to be the only Zelda transformation, huh? Tetra would be just as cool, and which Hyrule Warriors she has a moveset to build from- plus she could use some weapons exclusive to Wind Waker, since they won't give it to Toon Link for some reason (harumph). The main reason, however, why I want Tetra is, well frankly, she's my favorite version of Zelda, period.
Shovel Knight: Sega has Sonic. Namco has Pac-Man. Capcom has Mega Man and Ryu. Now Square Enix has Cloud. Indies have... Shovel Knight! Now I don't want to demean many other titles and their hardworking developers, but when it comes indie games, I think Shovel Knight is in a league of its own. I mean, first off, Yacht Club games got a Shovel Knight amiibo. That certainly attests to the game's status. Furthermore, I just think he'd be cool. Whenever I go through potential fighters in my mind, I envision Shovel Knight's moveset, and nod my head in approval: "Yep, he'd would work perfectly as a Smash fighter." Even if he doesn't make it in though, I do hope they at the very least give him a trophy or a Mii outfit.
Inklings: Splatoon was the surprise hit of the year for Nintendo and has definitely made a name for itself, so I feel that a Splatoon is almost warranted for Smash DLC. In my mind, they hit all the marks for a great Smash Bros character, but overall the array of weapons that an Inkling could use alone should speak for itself for the viability of these squiddies in Smash Bros. And unlike what a said about Shovel Knight above, trophies and Mii outfits aren't going to cut it for me. If they won't represent the series with a character, then there needs to be a stage. To me it's a no-brainer... and hopefully people voted alongside me with this one.

But in the end, even if none of these guys jump on the Smash 4 ship, whoever does get into Smash Bros. I'll be fine with (Within reason, of course. If I end up hating the character(s), you guys will be the first guys I rage about it to on the internet. I will probably not shut up about it for at least a week and will keep claiming that "I give up on Smash Bros." I promise you). Besides, the Smash 4 roster is already fantastic! I love to use so many characters already! The main course was wonderful and my appetite is satiated, so who am I to complain if you give me a dessert I didn't want (Again, unless you shove garbage in my face. Then we'll have a talk)?
