ok now I can believe you
because if you sayed it was trough "ave@vistastylebuilder.com" it would be lying since that mail is dead

Make sure to add in description more info...
like:
-Doesn't work with blur disabled.
-Doesn't work on Basic.
-Only works on Windows 7 RTM build 7600 or above.
-It doesn't changes the minimal window size which creates a bug when a window is resized to the minimal size.

Also make it working on startup >.>

Basic's close button size has nothing to do with this. This changes a value* of DWM to change the size of the button. Aero Basic doesn't use DWM.

*Value is a multiplier that also uses sysmetrics to achieve a size, and not a defined width.

I know it doesn't work on basic becayse basic doesn't use dwm but saying such a long story in description would be kind of confusing for the average user...

Is there by the way already a no-blur which uses sp1 files instead of those outdated files?

thepanda-x In reply to Seahorsepip [2011-05-15 19:03:38 +0000 UTC]

I know I misread.

No because only DWM for internal testing builds has the ability to hide blur and Ctrl+Shift+F9. Which is why you have to use the last leak before RTM to use it. It's unfortunate because I've seen people hit theming bugs because of the outdated DWM.

Theoretically though it may be possible to remove it via code and possibly by removing the pixel shader. I wouldn't know about the code, and I haven't removed the pixel shader to find out.

the problem about dwm is that those files aren't so easy edit...

didn't knew btw that it on ly worked with those builds

maybe we can use windows 8 dwm fiels at win7 for this?

or does dwm also changes the render of msstyles?

7 and 8's DWM aren't interchangeable (I would assume)

hmm 8 is based on 7 so maybe we can try to find out how to replace some system files with 8 ones, maybe they work after some edits liek version number and such.

Not as simple as that.

Seahorsepip In reply to thepanda-x [2011-05-16 04:55:47 +0000 UTC]

so most simple thing would be trying to get those files from a build between rtm and sp1?

I highly doubt any pre-sp1 builds will support it.

hmm maybe they will get it back in win8 with better msstyles and more tweaks for skinners

I see, was the original work protected by a creative commons or a copyright?
Also, to the author of this new plagiarized app, please rebuild your application; it's only fair that everyone obtain their resources legally, and you have not.
