My biggest issue with shading has always been not knowing where the shadows should be. This might actually help me.
I have a hard time reading the last part of 7, though.

Yep! For me it's all about making the basic shadows work with the direction of the fur/lineart
And lol no worries, 7 says "use colors opposite your shading to fill in shadows near the backlight! (Google that if you don't know what it is)
Try and use the colors in areas with darker value to help with contrast"
