Description Kenuso Falls, located in the Graham Mt. Range, N.E. British Columbia.

To experience the power of these falls is to have all your senses awakened to the powerful forces of nature and a state of indescribable awe. The raw energy, thundering down with such force collides with rocks far below, forcing volumes of water and spray heavenward.

Rain storms have caused the rivers to rise and the water which the rivers and creeks could not contain, overflowed their banks. The Murray River was in such a state when we arrived, seemingly alive and furious as it raced toward the falls (Kenuso Falls), where it cast huge trees, logs and other debris with wild abandon over and down to the waiting cauldron below and where the churning water ground all against rocks or flung them through the air to be caught again under the pounding waters.

The climb down to the bottom of the falls is rugged under good conditions; this day it was extremely slippery from the rains making both the descent and ascent difficult and risky. This shot was not taken at the bottom by the falls, but close. Even from this vantage point I could feel the spray. The deep roar of the falls fills the air and vibrates to the very center of your being. The earth almost seemed to quake under the onslaught.

All in all, the experience of these Falls, leaves you filled with awe and a rejuvenation of the spirit and an awakening through a renewed respect for Nature and her power.

I'm happy that was the impression you felt when viewing this image. That was exactly what I was trying to portray. So thank you so very much, your comment is valued and appreciated.

haha i never thought of it that way before, same cuttings different soil both hard workers and pioneers sent to tame new wild lands and at the end of the day i think ended up with better nations than the mother country.
You know me pretty well by now that i absolutely respect tradition and acknowledge and respect those who went before me but when it came to our referendum regarding becoming a republic i really thought it was time Australia did it, but it got voted out, the people (or the majority) wanted to keep the queen ... how would you vote if Canada had one?

Oh Matt...this isn't fair asking a question like this.
I could get into a total "rant" with what I think...hmm...but I don't believe my response would be totally 'olitically' correct. I have a hard time with being 'olitically correct'...lol...I mean Canadians have always been known for being ever so polite and accepting...but I feel, no I believe, "politically correct" is a tool that is destroying the fiber of 'Canadian' culture...hmm...this is getting very close to a rant-eh?....so I will stop now...perhaps validate the above in a note later...but...to get back to "the question"...not too few years ago I would have voted 'no'...now...well I think I would agree with you...but there are other factors at play over here...and that best be left for notes, since this could become political...hmm...and...I'm not politically correct...hmm...and...that could offend some,...hmm...but the bottom line is, I am Canadian, bred and born with roots going back a long way in North America...so I say, I stand on my deck, beat my chest...and shout "I yam a Canadian!!"...especially when we are enduring rotten weather! Yes, Matt...I do agree with you.

dont worry Joyce this subject really gets me going as well. Well for me it is about Australia becoming a republic obviously, i still get so mad when i think about the day after our referendum. The picture on the newspaper was a picture of the queen presenting the captain of our rugby team the world cup for rugby. The rugby world cup final was played in england the night before, which we obviously won, the headline said "He is the champion of the world and she is the queen of Australia" ... grrrr it's not that i am anti english, i just think its time .... if i dont stop this will end in a rant haha

Yes...I guess some of our opinions are best left for a private note. I understand exactly what you are saying...and I'm not anti British either...not by a long shot...but I am pro-Canadian...and yes...it is time.

I am close to a rant also...this subject always gets me going...but a storm in the area is now making a point also ...so I had better get off here soon.

A body of water is always a great place to get some super shots...but...it is dangerous for you too. Best not get over zealous...take care!

Oh yes, before I forget...I thought I'd give you a laugh. Remember when I was poking fun at you over being cold????? Ahhh well....you got your revenge!!! After literally roasting for two weeks with 100+ temps, the temperature dropped to 40F when a storm rolled in. Tonight it will be just above freezing- 5+. I guess that will teach me for being so flip...eh?? :lol"LOL And...YES...now I'm feeling the cold!

Another amazing waterfall shot, and I just LOVE your visceral description of the falls. The silhouette of the tree in the foreground brings a lot of scale to the image. Truly, these falls are power incarnate. Fantastic shot.

I am so happy that you like this. I just wish I could bring the true power and energy out through these images...I'm trying but haven't arrived yet. But if you can see this or sense the energy, I then am happy. Your comments always mean a lot and I always appreciate and benefit from each one...so I thank you again.

Even now when I review the images of this area, my body remembers...the primal energy and force that fills the area and I feel an excitement, spiritual appeasement, and renewal again. It is an experience that will never leave me.

Thank you for your encouraging and kind words.

What I would give to show it to you Debbie. I'm happy that you like this one. I think you would find this area very spiritual and your primal spirit brought to the forefront. The entire region around these Falls thrums with raw and powerful energy that fills your soul. Sort of a renewal.

I'm quite happy that I didn't hurt myself too...I actually was aware of the likelihood of a broken bone or bones and being hauled up the mountainside by ropes.LOL I tried very hard to avoid that situation. Fortunately for me I was in the company of family members, bred and born in this Peace Country, who hold a deep love for nature, this land and her inhabitants. They are also very experienced guides and woodsmen. Great companions!!

All I can say right now is Wow! No words can express what it must have felt like to experience the thundering falls and to be able to feel it within your being. I really appreciate your detailed description of what it had been like for you to experience it. I am glad that you were able to get over there to witness first hand what nature had to offer that day!

This is definitely a great shot, and you did a splendid job of capturing one of nature's best secrets!

Laurice, thank you so much for you input on this shot. It means a lot, and I wish I could actually bring the 'rimal force and energy' through my image. I am still in awe and my body awakens each time I view these pictures. It is an experience like none other...so thank you again.
