for PS users ~RetroSushi adds the locations of some other useful tools in photoshop:
Black and white - image>adjustments> Levels or Curves
Color - image>adjustments> color balance or hue/saturation
She adds the same info applies, but there are more sliders and the curves are a bit different.

Thank you so much! This will be very useful to me. I never knew that the scanners alter the colors, but I have noticed the the colors on the scanned version were different. Guess my brain didn't compute that the scanner might have something to do with that.. But anyways thank you again!

Your welcome! Scanners can be SUCH a pain in the ass. But anyway, sometimes you can use this to FURTHER tweak colours and get an even better pic, too Glad it helped!
